Gangnam bar for after-dinner drinks: radish oden at Shunno Oden
In short
Shunno Oden Nonhyeon is an outdoor oden bar izakaya on an alley off Gangnam-daero 124-gil in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, open from 16:00 until 2:00 the next day. After dinner nearby, we stopped in for a second round and ordered five oden singles — chrysanthemum greens, silk konjac, radish, vegetable fish cake and tofu — with draft beer in a thin usuhari glass and a highball over cubed ice, and the clear, deep broth and the broth-soaked radish stood out most. Shunno Oden Nonhyeon is a good pick for a light drink near Nonhyeon Station when you are already full.

Shunno Oden Nonhyeon: an outdoor izakaya for round two near Nonhyeon Station
After dinner in Gangnam's Nonhyeon area, we were trying to figure out where to go for round two, and landed on Shunno Oden Nonhyeon. There's no shortage of bars near Nonhyeon Station, but that night we were already pretty full, so instead of a heavy dish we wanted somewhere for warm oden and a drink. Shunno Oden fit the mood perfectly.
The first thing you notice arriving at the shop is the outdoor tented seating (야장) out front. Recommended 👍🏻 for anyone looking for an outdoor izakaya near Nonhyeon Station. Visit on a nice-weather day and eating outside feels totally different from sitting inside.

What the bar feels like inside: a Japanese-style oden counter
The overall atmosphere at Shunno Oden Nonhyeon feels like an actual local Japanese izakaya — like an old-school place in Japan that only regulars would know about. Japanese-style knickknacks and sake bottles line the shelves, and there are bar seats too, so you get the full oden bar feeling.

There seemed to be a lot of guests who'd come for a second round after a first meal elsewhere. Same for us, haha. Shunno Oden works well for a date, for drinking solo, or for a group gathering or work dinner.

We'd made a reservation. Walking in, my name was already sitting on the table. It might seem like a small thing, but it made me feel like they actually pay attention to guests in the little details — nice touch.

What is on the menu at Shunno Oden Nonhyeon?
Shunno Oden Nonhyeon serves a range of dishes — an oden platter (moriawase), okonomiyaki, Napolitan spaghetti, house-made yaki gyoza, and more. There's also a solid drinks lineup — sake, shochu, whiskey, draft beer, Ilpum Jinro — so you can order to match whatever you're eating. Ordering is done by QR code.

Cute little props scattered around the space. It's not just a pretty-interior kind of bar for aesthetics — you can tell they put thought into the small details too.

The kitchen isn't fully closed off, so you can watch the food being made up close. That open layout made it feel a lot more comfortable.

Draft beer served in a thin usuhari glass
The draft beer arrived. Shunno Oden starts you off differently right from the glass — a thin usuhari Japanese beer glass. Maybe because it's so thin, the beer's flavor and aroma felt more concentrated. Compared to a thick glass, the beer felt much smoother going into my mouth.

Five house-made oden singles: how did they taste?
We ordered chrysanthemum greens, silk konjac, radish, vegetable fish cake, and tofu. House-made fish cake — so we had high expectations!!

I expected the oden broth to be salty?? Nope, not salty at all — a deep, clear Japanese-style broth. It was surprising how clean yet deep the flavor was.

Being house-made, the fish cakes were super soft and springy. The broth had soaked all the way through the fish cake, so eating it together with the broth gave a much fuller flavor than the fish cake alone.
They say the fish cake is the star of an oden bar, but for me the real star was the radish!! After simmering in the special broth for hours, it gave way softly when I pressed it with chopsticks, and in the mouth the radish's own gentle sweetness spread together with the broth's savory depth — genuinely so good.

The highball was great too~~ made strong with ice balls, and it went down easy.

What I liked about Shunno Oden Nonhyeon started with that strong local Japanese vibe, but the food that actually came out was delicious too, so my satisfaction was high.

We cleaned every plate. Ate way too well at Shunno Oden Nonhyeon even though we were already full.

Is Shunno Oden Nonhyeon worth it? Final verdict
An outdoor tented vibe tucked into a Nonhyeon alley. The outdoor space feels really atmospheric with the lighting. Great spot to stop by for a simple dish and a drink — recommending Shunno Oden Nonhyeon~
