I usually love meals that are light but filling, like poke bowls or sandwiches, and this time I wanted a really good poke, so I headed to Eopcheonri382 Chungbuk National University Branch. It's a place where you can enjoy poke along with sandwiches and all kinds of drinks, so it seemed like a great spot for a simple meal or brunch. I went solo and thoroughly enjoyed both poke and sandwich, so here's my honest review :)

The exterior of Eopcheonri382 Chungbuk National University Branch felt clean and tidy from the outside. Out front there's a space that reminds you of a bus stop, with yellow chairs that catch your eye. The colorful tones give it a slightly retro feel and make a cute photo spot too.

Parking is notoriously hard to find near Chungbuk National University, so I was glad there was space to park right in front of the store. I actually drove there that day, and it was convenient not having to hunt for a separate parking lot since I could just park close to the store.

The menu was also written up out front, so I could check what was on offer before even going in.

Inside Eopcheonri382: seating and how it feels for eating alone

Walking in, the counter is right on the right side. Around it, various menu items are displayed with photos, making it easy to browse before ordering — the menu turned out to be much more varied than I expected.

Beyond the poke and sandwiches I came for, there were light snacks plus coffee, ades, and all sorts of drinks. With such a wide menu, it seemed like a great place either for a proper meal or just a casual snack and drink.

The interior overall had a slightly retro vibe. It wasn't overloaded with decor or cluttered though — the lighting, plants, and small props scattered around were simple and modern, giving it a clean feel too.

The chairs and tables also had a touch of retro to them, which really brought out Eopcheonri382's own atmosphere. Overall it felt cozy and comfortable, good for brunch or for a proper meal of poke or a sandwich.

It also had a nice vibe for going solo — sipping coffee while studying or working on a laptop.

There was also more seating than I expected. Poke places are often takeout-focused or too small to sit and eat comfortably, but Eopcheonri382 Chungbuk National University Branch had plenty of seats to enjoy your meal in-store, not just to go. There were 2-seat and 4-seat tables spread evenly, plus window seats where you could eat while looking outside.

Looking at the menu lineup, there were way more options than I expected — meal items like salads and poke, easy bites like sandwiches, tortillas and toast, plus separate snack items. The drink selection was huge too, from coffee to juices, ades and smoothies, so there's something for every taste.

I ordered the salmon poke salad ₩14,600, chicken breast sandwich (rye bread +₩500) ₩8,400, and an americano ₩3,500.

Self-serve bar and the review event

On one wall was a cute grandmother illustration evoking Eopcheonri382's namesake, along with a playful line: 'You can't buy grandma's memories with money, but you can buy Eopcheonri.' It fit the retro vibe nicely and felt like a nice touch of Eopcheonri382's own charm.

Right next to it was a self-serve bar. It had water and wifi info, hand sanitizer, napkins, wet wipes, and even utensils like forks, knives and spoons you could grab yourself. It was nice being able to just help myself to whatever I needed during the meal without having to ask staff.

There was also a review event sign — writing a receipt review or a Naver Clip review gets you a free americano.

The restroom inside was clean and well-kept too.

While I was looking around, my order came out fast! It looked so appetizing I took plenty of photos before finally digging in :)

Salmon poke salad, 14,600 won, eaten with ranch dressing

First up was the salmon poke salad I was most looking forward to. I really love salmon in general, so I often pick salmon options when ordering poke.

I chose ranch dressing as my sauce. You just pour it evenly over the top and mix it in with the ingredients before eating.

Besides the salmon, there was a generous amount of toppings so every bite had a different texture and flavor. Centered on fresh salmon, it also had crab stick, grilled egg, egg strips, flying fish roe, onion and greens — a combination that worked really well together.

The cabbage in particular was fresh and crunchy, and I already love grilled eggs, so I was even happier that it was a savory grilled egg rather than just a plain boiled one.

On top of that, there was sweet and soft roasted pumpkin, which made the bowl even more filling.

At the end, a few tangy cherry tomatoes gave a clean, refreshing finish. Maybe because I picked ranch, everything came together with a smooth, savory flavor, and with so many different toppings, I was able to finish the whole bowl without getting tired of it.

Chicken breast sandwich swapped to rye bread, 8,400 won

Next was the chicken breast sandwich. I usually love sandwiches packed full of vegetables, and the moment I saw Eopcheonri382's chicken breast sandwich I liked it right away — it was genuinely a chunky sandwich.

The filling was piled generously between the bread, so it looked filling at a glance. The lettuce especially was very generous, giving a nice crunch, and the chicken breast wasn't just plain — it was seasoned so it didn't have that bland, dry chicken-breast taste.

Cheese and tomato were also added, so the lean chicken breast, fresh vegetables and cheese blended really well together. I swapped the standard bread for rye bread, and the nutty rye gave a nice chew — it felt like a slightly healthier way to eat, which I liked even more.

Is Eopcheonri382 a good café near Chungbuk National University for solo dining and laptop work?

I visited alone that day and took my time enjoying the meal. After eating, I pulled out my laptop to get some work done and spent time reading as well. The atmosphere doesn't feel awkward for solo visitors, and there's plenty of seating, so it was a great place to have a meal and cafe time by myself. With plenty of solo-friendly options like poke and sandwiches, this is worth a visit if you're looking for a café near Chungbuk National University for solo dining, laptop work, or reading.

Overall, Eopcheonri382 Chungbuk National University Branch had such a wide menu — from poke to sandwiches to all kinds of drinks — that there's something to pick based on your mood.
