Wedding-anniversary ring making in Suwon: Bella and Ocean at Loventa

Wanting a special date with my husband in Suwon, we headed to Loventa Suwon Haenggung, a ring studio where you can make your own couple rings~ It had been 10 years since I made couple rings at a studio back when we were dating, so I went in full of anticipation~ Want to join us for a happy date making pretty couple rings?

Where is Loventa Suwon Haenggung, and what are its hours?

Location: 22 Jeongjo-ro 861beon-gil, 3F, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do~ Hours: daily 11:00–17:30. Parking: not available

The moment I stepped in, the upscale interior put me in such a good mood~ Clean and bright, it made a great first impression~

Inside Loventa: private rooms, an open work table and a restroom

They've set up separate private rooms so you can enjoy the class privately, which was even better~ Working in what felt like our own individual studio made me feel like a professional, and my heart started fluttering~

There's also an open work table on one side, so if you'd feel stuffy in an enclosed space, don't worry, you can still take the class there~

There's a clean restroom inside the store, shared but convenient — it has sinks both inside and outside, so it was easy to just wash your hands after the class~

The couple rings on display were so pretty~ Every single design felt upscale~ While we were browsing, a staff member came and guided us to our experience room~

We were shown to Room 1, which had gorgeous natural light~ Thanks to the bright light, it felt cozy without being stuffy, and I loved it~

Choosing the designs: Bella and Ocean, one model each

They brought out samples so we could choose our rings~ There were plenty of sparkly cubic-set designs, which I love~ Prices differ by design, so just pick with that in mind~

They told us we didn't have to choose a matching couple design and could each pick separately, so after some thought we chose this design~ Different models, but thanks to the flashy cubics they still felt like a couple set, so we went with this~

For the Bella and Ocean models we picked, they checked our sizes and options~ We didn't choose engraving, plating, or courier delivery~

How does the 5-step ring-making process work?

Now for the real ring-making experience~ Put on an apron and gloves, open the drawer to catch the silver dust, and you're ready to start~

A staff member demonstrated first and then we followed along~ After showing us, they'd step out, and when we rang the bell they'd come back to guide the next step, which made for a nice, cozy ring-making experience~

Step 1: Filing down the rough surface

The first step was filing down the rough surface of the ring~ Watching my husband focus so hard on filing was just too cute haha

After finishing the first step, we rang the bell and the staff member came right away to check it~ They praised us at every step, which felt great~

Step 2: Tidying up the sides

Step two was smoothing out the sides~ We rubbed evenly so the pressure wasn't lopsided, and it was so satisfying watching the ring gradually get refined!!!

They said we could swap and finish each other's rings, but I said we'd each make our own, you know? That seemed to fire him up, because he focused so hard and said his was coming out prettier — and honestly, seeing his turn out smoother than mine, I briefly regretted not swapping, but the staff member told me I did great too, so I felt reassured haha

Step 3: Smoothing the ring with sandpaper

The third step was smoothing with sandpaper~ Unlike the earlier steps, it's not a dramatic change, but they warned that rubbing one spot too much could create a dent, so we rubbed evenly all around~

Step 4: Finishing the surface by machine

The fourth step used a machine to smooth things out~ Press the pedal and the machine spins to polish the ring's surface~ Watching my husband pick up the machine and focus like a pro, having fun with it, made me really glad we'd come~

Step 5: Polishing the ring to a shine

The final step was polishing~ They switched the machine tip to a pointed one, pressed the pedal, and as soon as it touched the ring the shine came alive — it was amazing~ My husband and I ended up arguing over whose ring was shinier, until we asked the staff member and they said we'd both done great~ I'm a little worried they thought we were like two kids haha

Same-day pickup in 1 hour 30 minutes: a walk around Haenggung-dong in between

They said courier delivery was possible too, but we wanted to take them home right away, so we chose same-day pickup~ Since pickup takes about 1 hour 30 minutes after the class, we decided to grab a meal, and after eating we wandered around Haenggung-dong until they called to say the rings were ready~ We went straight to pick them up, and to our surprise, they had beautifully arranged our rings together with the Polaroid photos taken during our session~ Such thoughtfulness, I loved it!!!

Ta-da~ Aren't our couple rings pretty? The sparkling cubics looked so luxurious~ My husband's ring has one matte side and one glossy side, giving it a subtle, upscale look~

The cute little bag looked just like a luxury brand bag~ It felt so premium and adorable that before the class I asked how much it cost — turns out it's just for packing your rings after the class, which made me so happy~ You can choose between white and green, and I went with green~ The more I look at it, the more I love it, so I've displayed it in my cabinet at home!!!

Ending the Suwon date with a mock proposal at a café

At a café, we took turns putting the rings on each other's fingers and play-acted a proposal~ We loved the rings so much we struck the pose over and over, laughing 'oh my head~' My husband was so happy, saying it was way better than the studio we visited while dating, and I felt good all the way to the end~

The photos we took together at the studio turned out so well, which made me happy~ The light there is so lovely that photos come out great, so be sure to take couple photos after your class too~ If you're looking for a special spot for a special day, I recommend Loventa Suwon Haenggung!!!
