Dog-friendly Indian restaurant in Songdo: samosa Set A at Manokamana

In short

Manokamana Triple Street Branch 2 is an Indian restaurant in the B2 dining alley of Triple Street in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon. Stopping in with two dogs during a shopping trip, the writer ordered Set A at 30,000 won per person and paired it with chicken masala curry and butter naan, finding the spicing mild enough for anyone new to Indian food. With outdoor corridor seats where a pet stroller fits easily and a quiet weekday mood, Manokamana Branch 2 works well for a meal out with a dog.

I really love Indian curry, so since I was already in Songdo, I went to grab Indian food again after a long while.

That day I'd come to Triple Street for a shopping outing with my dogs, and stopped by here — it turned out to be an even better find because it's also a good place to eat with your dog!!

Where is Manokamana Triple Street Branch 2, and can you bring a dog?

Manokamana Triple Street Branch 2 is located in the underground level 2 dining alley, and quite a few restaurants along this corridor have outdoor seating. It was easy to park the pet stroller there, so it was great for eating out while shopping with dogs. On weekends it can get a bit hectic with crowds, but on weekdays the atmosphere was relatively relaxed and comfortable for eating.

Also, Triple Street offers up to 5 hours of free parking per day without needing to validate anything, so there's no need to worry about parking while shopping and eating. It was great for taking your time browsing around too.

Inside Manokamana: a dining room that feels like a trip to India

Walking into the restaurant, you get a traditional feel like you've traveled to India. Even though it's a place I pass by often, adding that exotic Indian-style interior made it feel completely different. The cups and dishes had a hefty, upscale feel too, which put me in a good mood even before the food arrived.

There's second-floor seating too, so on weekdays it's pure relaxed vibes ~~ High chairs are also available!

They say Manokamana's food is cooked directly by a local chef with 15 years of experience who balances the flavors for Korean palates. The staff seemed to be Indian as well, and they were super friendly!! They served everything so kindly that I had a great time eating, and thanks to the staff, it felt even more like an authentic, exotic dining experience.

What comes in Set A at 30,000 won per person?

Whenever I go for Indian curry, I always order samosa, so this time I got Set A which includes it (₩30,000 per person).

  • Chicken mushroom soup
  • Samosa
  • Green salad
  • King prawn
  • Tandoori chicken
  • One curry for two people
  • One naan and one rice
  • Choice of special lassi or red wine

I chose chicken masala for the curry and butter naan for the bread. I added an extra rice too!! One rice isn't enough when there are two of you, haha. I ordered plain lassi, and my partner got mango lassi.

Lassi and chicken mushroom soup to start

The lassi came out first! Rather than being thick, it was a soft, easy-to-drink, sweet yogurt beverage.

The soup had quite a lot of ingredients in it, but it wasn't heavy — it flowed lightly, so it was easy to eat without feeling weighed down, with a subtly deep flavor.

The chicken masala curry had pretty large chunks of chicken, and the portion wasn't small either. I mixed it into the rice, then dipped the butter naan into the curry, and my hand kept reaching for more. For someone who loves Indian curry like me, the rice-and-naan combo was the best.

King prawn, tandoori chicken and the samosa

The king prawn was plump and delicious, and the salad was fresh and refreshing too. The tandoori chicken was tasty and moist even on its own !! But dipping it in the accompanying chili sauce made it truly delicious, haha. Personally, dipping it in sauce was more to my taste.

And the samosa I'd been looking forward to! It's like an Indian-style fried dumpling, and Manokamana's version isn't heavy on spice, so it was easier to eat than expected. Even people who find Indian food intimidating because of the spices could probably give it a try without much worry.

The atmosphere is exotic and the food was delicious overall, so I thought this would be a good place to bring someone along.

Especially with the way they paid attention not just to taste but also to the dishware and store atmosphere, I felt well taken care of throughout the meal.

Coming to Triple Street for a shopping trip with my dogs and getting to eat delicious Indian food too, plus spending a relaxed weekday, made it an even more satisfying day !!
