In short

Cozy Bear (코지베어) is a small salt bread bakery café on Haedoji-ro in the Songdo hagwon district of Yeonsu, Incheon. The writer ate in with one plain salt bread and one garlic salt bread, a handmade vanilla latte for 5,000 won and a decaf americano (3,800 won plus 500 won to switch to decaf), and both the bread and the drinks lived up to expectations. For salt bread that nails the basics alongside decent coffee, Cozy Bear is an easy recommendation.

Salt bread and coffee at Cozy Bear, a Songdo bakery café

A small, cute Songdo bakery café where the salt bread and coffee paired perfectly.

Cafe Cozy Bear, a bakery café in Songdo, Incheon. I was looking for a place in Songdo to enjoy tasty salt bread with a leisurely cup of coffee, so I stopped by Cozy Bear.

Exterior atmosphere of Cozy Bear's Songdo Hagwonga branch

I love salt bread, so whenever a new bakery opens in Songdo I tend to check it out. This time, Cozy Bear turned out to be less of a grab-and-go bakery and more of a cozy café where you can settle in with a drink — I liked that vibe.

After trying it myself, I get why people searching for the best salt bread spots in Songdo would be interested in this place.

What is Cozy Bear in Songdo like inside?

Cozy Bear is a small, cozy bakery café on Haedoji-ro in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. The inside is neatly arranged with the bread displayed nicely.

The space has a cute feel that matches its name, so I felt good the moment I walked in. It seemed like it hadn't been open long, because it looked really stylish! Not just cute, but very much on-trend right now. It had that easy, no-pressure feel where you can just drop in, pick some bread, grab a coffee, and head out.

On a nice day, it seemed like it would be great to enjoy the bread and drinks outside. Eating quietly indoors is nice too, but I imagine eating a salt bread in the sunshine on a good-weather day would feel pretty great.

What the writer ordered at Cozy Bear and the prices

That day at Cozy Bear I picked out two drinks and two salt breads. A handmade vanilla latte for ₩5,000, and a decaf americano for ₩3,800 plus ₩500 to switch to decaf.

And I ordered one garlic salt bread and one plain salt bread. There were several bread varieties, so I hesitated a bit over what to choose, but I wanted to start with the basics, so I went with plain and garlic.

Plain salt bread and garlic salt bread laid out together

To cut to the conclusion: both the drinks and the bread were delicious, so I was satisfied.

What does Cozy Bear's plain salt bread taste like?

Cozy Bear's plain salt bread was all the more delicious for being so simple. The buttery flavor and salty note characteristic of salt bread came together nicely, and it went perfectly with coffee.

Cozy Bear's plain salt bread

Rather than piling on toppings, if you like the basic flavor of salt bread, I'd recommend starting with the plain one.

Even eating the bread alone wasn't heavy, and paired with coffee I kept reaching for more. So if you're on the hunt for the best salt bread in Songdo and you like salt bread that nails the basics, I recommend Cozy Bear.

How is the garlic salt bread different from the plain one?

Cozy Bear's garlic salt bread was also delicious. It had a much stronger flavor than the plain one, so I think it'll suit anyone who loves garlic bread.

The nutty flavor unique to salt bread combined with the garlic aroma gave it a totally different appeal from the plain version.

Garlic salt bread paired with coffee

Rather than picking just one, I'd suggest getting one plain and one other flavor, like I did. Especially if you want to try several kinds, it might be nice to pack a few salt breads to go and eat them one by one at home.

Sometimes at a bakery the bread is great but the drinks fall a bit short, right? But both drinks I ordered at Cozy Bear that day were tasty, so I was satisfied.

Cozy Bear's handmade vanilla latte

The handmade vanilla latte had a clear sweet, smooth flavor, and it paired nicely with the salt bread.

Cozy Bear's decaf americano

I ordered the decaf americano, and it was clean and refreshing, which went well with the bread. Since salt bread itself has a buttery richness, I'd personally recommend pairing it with something clean like an americano.

Gift boxes for taking salt bread home

Cozy Bear has cute packaging boxes for the salt bread, which seemed nice for gifting. As I finished eating and headed out, the packaging boxes caught my eye too.

Instead of just plastic wrapping, having them nicely boxed makes it a lot better as a simple snack gift. This time I ate my bread right there at the café without packaging anything, but next time I think it'd be nice to pick out a few to box up and take home. It also seemed like a good light gift for a friend who loves salt bread.

The 3+1 salt bread event at Cozy Bear

At the time of my visit, Cozy Bear was also running a salt bread event — buy 3 salt breads and get 1 more free. If you want to try several kinds of salt bread or plan to pack some to take home, this event seems worth using.

Where to park near Cozy Bear in Songdo

Cozy Bear doesn't have its own parking, but there's a free public parking lot about a 10-second walk away, so it was easy to park and walk over. Parking matters a lot for anyone visiting by car.

Rather than parking right in front of the café, it actually felt nicer to park comfortably and take a short walk over. In Songdo, parking sometimes makes people hesitate about which café to choose, but a distance this short feels pretty low-pressure.

A bakery café where the owner is genuinely kind

One of the things that made me happiest that day at Cozy Bear was how kind the owner was. Since it was my first visit, I was looking around at everything, and they made me feel comfortable, so I left in a great mood.

The tasty bread and drinks were great, but that small kindness on top made me want to come back again. Overall the store was clean and both the drinks and bread were satisfying, so if you're looking for a café in Songdo, this is the spot. Like me, you could pick one plain salt bread and one other flavor to enjoy with coffee.
