Namaste~ 🙏 I was craving Indian food in Sinchon after a long while, so I visited Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch!

Back when I was a college student, I remembered this as a famous Indian restaurant in Sinchon, and even though it had been ages since I last came, I was so happy to see it's still standing strong!

What impressed me most about Meno Kamena is that from the moment you walk in, it feels like you've stepped into India, food aside 💓

But you know how it is — if a place's vibe is exotic, sometimes you worry the taste will be too exotic too and you won't come back? Not here. This is a flavor Koreans will love. A flavor everyone will love!

Namaste! A place that's Indian from the atmosphere up

These days a lot of Indian restaurants go for a clean, minimalist restaurant look, but Meno Kamena has Indian colors and props everywhere, so you really feel 'this is a genuine Indian restaurant!'

Even before the food arrives, it feels like you're on a trip, so it seemed like a great spot for a different kind of date or meal in Sinchon!

What's in the Meno Kamena A-set?

The A-set is priced per person and can be ordered for two or more! The composition is really generous — you get appetizers, a main dish, and a drink, enough to fill you right up!

  • Chicken mushroom soup
  • Samosa
  • Green salad
  • King prawns
  • Tandoori chicken
  • Curry
  • Naan
  • Rice
  • Lassi or red wine

You get to pick your curry, naan, and drink to your taste, so it was great for trying several menu items at once 💓 If you're new to Indian food, going with a set to sample a variety of dishes rather than ordering single items one at a time seems like a good idea!

Chicken mushroom soup

Chicken mushroom soup included in the A-set

The soup was smooth with chicken and mushrooms in it, so it was a nice light start before diving into the real curry and tandoori chicken. Warm and really delicious. Total recommend!

Samosa

Crispy fried Indian-style dumpling, samosa

Samosa, an Indian restaurant staple, also came out. It's kind of like an Indian-style dumpling — crispy fried skin with filling inside — crispy outside, soft inside, and great as a starter!

Bite-sized samosa, easy to pick up and eat

It goes well with curry too, and it's also great for just picking up and eating one at a time~

King prawns & tandoori chicken

Plate of grilled king prawns and tandoori chicken

The tandoori chicken really lets you taste that distinctive Indian spice flavor, so it definitely felt like I was at an Indian restaurant. Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch's spices weren't overpowering, and it was delicious chicken anyone could enjoy~

The king prawns were beautifully grilled, moist, with the prawn texture still intact. I highly recommend them! With tandoori chicken and king prawns both included, the set felt quite hearty!

Curry: Panir Makhani

Panir makhani curry with Indian-style cheese

Meno Kamena has a really wide variety of curries, so it's fun just picking one. Since I can't handle spicy food well, I debated for a while and chose panir makhani.

Panir is an Indian-style cheese, and it blended with the smooth curry for a very savory, mild flavor~ It really suited me since I can't do spicy curry, and I'd recommend it to anyone who prefers a soft, savory curry over something intense. Dipping the naan into the curry was especially delicious.

Naan: Garlic Naan

Garlic naan served alongside the curry

There are three naan choices! You can pick from plain, garlic, or butter naan.

We went with garlic naan and totally recommend it! The garlic flavor makes it delicious on its own, and dipped into a smooth curry like panir makhani, the combination was really great 💓 Eating curry and naan together is one of the biggest joys of Indian food, I think.

Lassi: Strawberry & Mango

Two glasses of strawberry and mango lassi

With the A-set, you can choose lassi or red wine as your drink. Lassi comes in plain, mango, and strawberry flavors, and we ordered both strawberry and mango lassi.

Both were sweet and smooth, pairing well with the spiced Indian food. Especially when the curry's flavor lingers in your mouth, taking a sip of lassi smooths it right out — the lassi and Indian food combo really is great.

I think the biggest charm of Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch is that you can really feel that Indian atmosphere not just in the food, but in the space itself!

Order the A-set and you can enjoy everything from soup to samosa, salad, king prawns, tandoori chicken, curry, naan, rice, and lassi all at once, which makes it a solid choice even for people trying Indian food for the first time.

If you want a somewhat different meal in Sinchon, or want to enjoy curry and naan in an atmosphere that feels like a trip to India, give Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch a visit. Namaste! 🙏
