Seongdong Korean beef restaurant for group dinners: Marblejeong

I had a meal with a friend at Marblejeong (마블정), a Korean beef specialist near Ttukseom Station. Staff grilled the 1++ Korean beef mixed grill for us, which made it easy to focus on our conversation. Beyond the main dining hall, it has rooms for different group sizes, so it also caught my attention as a venue for company dinners or family gatherings.

How much are the Korean beef mixed grill and sides?

The two of us ordered the 400g 1++ Korean beef mixed grill, doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), and steamed egg. The menu prices listed in the original post came to ₩176,000.

In addition to the Korean beef mixed grill, the menu included courses, Korean pork, and lunch set meals. At the time the original post was written, the restaurant stated that the 1++ Korean beef assortment received a 20% discount before 2 PM.

Is it a good space for dining with a group?

The interior had an overall black-toned look with lighting. There were plenty of seats in the main hall and generous space between tables, making it comfortable to talk while eating. To me, it felt closer to Korean beef dining.

The restaurant stated that it has a terrace and group rooms for 16, 20, and 36 people, with full rental of all 110 seats also available. Being able to choose a space to suit the group size made me think it would work well for company dinners or meals with a larger group.

Which cuts come in the Korean beef assortment, and how is it grilled?

Salad came as a side dish, along with fresh wasabi and Maldon salt to pair with the beef.

The mixed grill included sirloin and chadolbagi (thinly sliced beef brisket) as standard, along with recommended special cuts prepared that day. On the day I visited, the recommended cut was chimasal (skirt steak).

Staff grilled all the meat and vegetables, then cut them into easy-to-eat pieces. Since I did not need to focus on grilling, I could have the meal without breaking the flow of conversation with my friend.

The Korean beef had abundant marbling, with both a meaty aroma and nutty richness. Eating the cuts one after another let us enjoy changing textures. I prefer trying small amounts of different cuts rather than eating only one throughout, so I was glad I ordered the assortment.

How were the doenjang-jjigae and steamed egg?

The chadol doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew with beef brisket) was pleasantly spicy and helped reset my palate when the meat began to feel rich. The steamed egg we ordered with it was ordinary.

As a 1++ Korean beef specialist, it was on the pricey side. Still, the assortment of cuts and staff grilling made the meal comfortable, and I found the overall meal composition satisfactorily solid.

How do you get there from Ttukseom Station, and is parking available?

The address is 2F, 57 Seongsui-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea (서울 성동구 성수일로 57 2층). It is about a three-minute walk from Exit 5 of Ttukseom Station, so it was easier to reach from Ttukseom Station than from Seongsu Station. The building has dedicated parking for Marblejeong, which also made visiting by car convenient.

The restaurant stated that free parking is available. It also noted that you need to ask about using the first-floor parking lot after 6 PM.

How do you reserve a group room, and how late is it open?

The restaurant stated that reservations are available through Naver, Catchtable, and phone, including group and room reservations. If you are planning a company dinner for more than 10 people or want a particular room size, I recommend confirming the headcount and reserving a room in advance.

The hours listed in the original post were 11:00–24:00 on weekdays and 11:00–23:00 on weekends. Last orders were listed as 23:00 on weekdays and 22:00 on weekends.
