Korean restaurant near Samseong Station with unlimited rice and soup
In short
Obongjip Samseong Branch is a Korean restaurant near Samseong and Samseong Jungang stations in Gangnam, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Exit 5. Two diners ordered the Nakji Obong Special (grilled octopus stir-fry for two + pork belly bossam + platter noodles), a portion big enough for three adults, and a self-serve bar with unlimited rice, seaweed soup and side dishes made it even better value. Getting to Obongjip Samseong Branch from Samseong Station, and parking
Walk about 5 minutes from Exit 5 of Samseong or Samseong Jungang Station and you'll easily spot Obongjip Samseong Branch, with its clean, tidy exterior standing out right away. There's no dedicated parking lot, though, so I'd recommend coming by public transit — it's genuinely an easy walk from the subway.

There's a standee at the entrance covered in praise from TV segments and well-known YouTubers, which got me excited before I'd even walked in.

Receipt review prize draw
On the wall there's a sign about a nostalgic no-miss prize draw for anyone who leaves a Naver receipt review. Definitely check this out if you visit — I won a 5th-place drink. I never have that kind of luck with draws haha.

There were also plaques certifying it as an outstanding franchise location and outstanding franchise, which raised my trust in the place quite a bit.

Interior and seating
The interior is decorated in a cozy, tidy wood tone throughout. The seats have generous spacing too, making it a really pleasant spot for a Samseong-dong lunch or an evening get-together.

A big company motto reading "Fill our customers up" hangs on the wall, and once you start eating you really feel that it's not just for show.

Near the table there's a friendly guide on how to best enjoy the octopus stir-fry — a tip to drizzle sesame oil over rice and mix it with the octopus, seaweed flakes and bean sprouts for maximum flavor.

Unlimited rice and seaweed soup self-bar
One of the biggest perks here is the self-bar. You can help yourself to rice, hot seaweed soup, and basic side dishes as many times as you like, no hesitation needed. It's a real standout for value.

The Nakji Obong Special — too much for two
We ordered the signature menu, the Nakji Obong Special. We started eating as a pair and were shocked at how the table overflowed with food — plenty for three adults.

The Nakji Obong Special comes with grilled octopus stir-fry for two, pork belly bossam (boiled pork wrap), and platter-style cold buckwheat noodles. The octopus in the stir-fry was thick and plump, giving a satisfying chew, and the spicy-sweet smoky sauce soaked right through — perfect mixed with rice.
The bossam made with gabrisal (pork shoulder blade meat) was tender and mild with no gamey taste, and it paired beautifully with the dried radish kimchi served alongside. The tangy-sweet platter noodles were also great wrapped up with the bossam — you just keep wanting more without getting tired of it.

Dessert: plum tea
After the meal, there's chilled plum tea waiting near the entrance for dessert. A sweet, cold cup after the spicy octopus stir-fry and bossam cleans up your palate nicely.
Final thoughts and who it's for
I'd recommend Obongjip Samseong Branch to anyone near Samseong or Samseong Jungang Station wanting a hearty, good-value meal. You get plump octopus, tender gabrisal bossam, and tangy noodles all in one sitting, plus unlimited rice and soup for a full, satisfying meal.
