What about parking, seating, and ordering?

Choe Uyeong Sushiya Jongno Branch is on B1 of a newly built building, so you can get 2 hours of free parking with a meal! It is very easy to get to, too ☺️☺️

Wait, you can eat sushi at these prices in the Gwanghwamun and Jonggak office district…? I went in with a little skepticism 🤔

Maybe because it is an office district with lots of solo diners, there are seats perfectly set up for eating alone ☺️

• Visit before or just after the lunch peak (11:30–12:15).
• Check the assorted and special sushi-set selections before ordering.
• Definitely add a tempura side while it is still wonderfully crisp.

There are plenty of seating arrangements, whether you come as two or as a group of three or four, so you can sit comfortably.

You can order individual pieces as well as sets, so you can build the meal you want ☺️ It is a prepaid system where you pay right away at the table kiosk—eat, rest, pay, and go: that eat-rest-pay-and-leave spirit ☺️

Individual neta and 16-piece Choisang Sushi

Miso soup at just the right temperature, and

the indispensable pickled ginger and rakkyo (pickled scallion bulbs).

Order your favorites individually ☺️ Engawa (flounder fin), tuna, sea bream, scallop, and more 🤤🤤

The fatty tuna was ₩3,000 a piece, and it honestly felt like even better value than what I had in Japan!!??

Wow! This spread at this price 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 Nothing overlaps, so you get to try such a great variety!!

The right amount of rice with plump fish! It could not possibly be bad.

Oh gosh, the tuna went into my mouth and said bye-bye immediately.

As a scallop lover, I had to have the scallop sushi too.

And sea bream? Needless to say, needless to say ㅜㅜ

The assorted tempura I remembered more than the sushi

No, no—I came because it was known for sushi, but this place is a tempura gem.

Fried rice cakes!!! What brilliant food lover came up with this lovely idea!

A warm finish with inari udon

Inari udon, ₩5,000

Inari udon with generous toppings and a deeply flavorful broth!

Somehow, ending with warm noodles is just the Korean way ☺️

And today, too, we finished every last bit of kimchi!!!

Lunch waits and takeout

Because it is popular with nearby office workers, there may be a wait between 11:30 and 12:20. Visit around 11:20 or after 12:30 for a more relaxed meal. Tables turn over quickly at lunch, so even if there is a wait, it goes by in no time.

The main sushi sets are available for takeout, so you can enjoy them comfortably at the office or at home. The basic set selection is decided by that day's freshest fish, but you can freely enjoy your preferred neta by adding individual sushi pieces.
