Where is Kkankkan Jjokbal Suwan Branch, and where do you park?

Kkankkan Jjokbal Suwan Branch is at 44 Suwan-ro, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, and it's open from 12:00 PM to 11:30 PM. There's no dedicated parking lot, but you can park in the nearby alleys.

What the inside of Kkankkan Jjokbal looks like

The inside of Kkankkan Suwan Branch is spacious and comfortable, so it seemed like a good place for anyone, young or old, to eat well. Plus there's a big screen, which makes it even better for anyone who's into baseball or other sports~!

There was actually a baseball game on the day we visited, and it was so nice to enjoy a comfortable, cool, delicious meal without having to go all the way to the stadium haha

Side dishes: sundubu jjigae and steamed egg included

The default side dishes at Kkankkan Jjokbal Suwan Branch are salad, lettuce wraps, and assorted sauces — and on top of that, sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) and steamed egg came free! That sundubu jjigae in particular was spicy and refreshing and so delicious haha

Honest review of the garlic jokbal and makguksu set

What we ordered was the garlic jokbal medium and makguksu set! I think it was called the "friends set," and it came out really generously packed..! It looked like enough to fill up even three people?!

⭐️Garlic jokbal, medium size⭐️

Kkankkan is actually a jokbal place I order delivery from really often. The jokbal itself is always reliably delicious no matter when I eat it~! There was plenty of meat, none of it dry at all, super tender, and the ratio of lean meat to fat was perfect — so good!

And my pick was that garlic sauce! It's not a sauce that's raw-garlic-sharp and spicy — it's sweet with just a little bit of that pungent garlic kick added in, and I think any Korean would love it hahaha

Ordering the garlic sauce and dipping generously is my number-one pick, but you can also enjoy it plenty with just the basic sauce! Depending on your taste, pair it with salted shrimp, chogochujang (vinegared chili paste), ssamjang, garlic, or pickled radish for even more variety and flavor^.^

The lean meat wasn't dry at all — so tender and moist and delicious, and the collagen-rich fat had a chewy texture that paired perfectly with it! Oh, and it also goes surprisingly well with the salad — a real hidden combo, so definitely try eating it that way : )

Above all, the portion was pretty generous — two big eaters visited and still left a little bit behind..! It was almost a shame to leave anything, it was that delicious haha

And for the definite die-hard fans, there's even the bone part! Dip it in chogochujang or salted shrimp and pick at it — you know it's a surprisingly special treat haha

⭐️Makguksu (chilled buckwheat noodles)⭐️

This is the makguksu (buckwheat noodles) we ordered to go with the jokbal! The portion of makguksu was also pretty generous. Most of all, there were plenty of vegetables in it, which made it perfect to eat alongside the jokbal. The sauce was slightly spicy-sweet and addictive — a total must-have side~!

Chewy, springy makguksu with a spicy-sweet, addictive sauce, plus clean and chewy jokbal — that's a combo that's impossible to go wrong with haha. Since it's a set menu, the price is reasonable too, so I think it's worth trying together!
