My husband and I wanted a nice-atmosphere restaurant for a dinner date, so we went to Bologna Daejeon Dunsan Branch!

It's pretty close to Daejeon City Hall Station too, so I want to recommend it to anyone looking for good restaurants near Daejeon City Hall Station. Visiting in person, the food was delicious, but what I loved most was the atmosphere — it felt like stepping into a tiny restaurant somewhere in Europe :)
Where is Bologna Daejeon Dunsan Branch? Hours and parking
Bologna Daejeon Dunsan Branch is a Western-style restaurant at 30 Dunsanjung-ro 46beon-gil, Seo-gu, Daejeon. Hours are 11:00 - 21:30, break time is 15:00 - 17:00, last order is 20:30, and parking is available.
For parking, using the Hyeongseong parking lot right next to the restaurant gets you parking support, which was convenient. Parking in Dunsan-dong can sometimes be a hassle, so having parking support was a nice bonus!
A European-feeling dining room, fully booked by 6pm

We wanted to avoid the evening peak, so we arrived a bit early, around 6pm. At first only about 4 tables were occupied, but as we ate, more and more guests kept coming in, and before we knew it, the place was completely full. A waiting line even formed eventually — clearly a popular spot.

If you'd rather eat at a more relaxed pace, it might be worth arriving a bit earlier than dinnertime. More than anything, I loved the warm, exotic atmosphere the moment we stepped in — like a little restaurant tucked into a European alleyway.

So this feels less like a place you just go to eat, and more like a great spot for a Dunsan-dong date where you enjoy the atmosphere along with the food.
What comes in the ₩43,000 gnocchi set?

After some back and forth over the menu, we ordered the gnocchi set (₩43,000).
The gnocchi set includes
- Soup
- Bread
- Seasonal salad
- Choice of one pasta
- Truffle cream gnocchi
— that's the full lineup.
For two people, the set was great since we could try several dishes at once! Among the pasta options, we went with the clam vongole pasta.
Starter bread, soup and the seasonal salad

Before the mains, warm bread and soup arrived first.

The bread was plain on the outside but chewy inside, and paired really well with the warm soup — delicious :)

The seasonal salad had fresh vegetables, tomato, mango and cheese. The refreshing flavor cleaned my palate nicely before the gnocchi and pasta that followed!
How did the truffle cream gnocchi taste?
And the dish I was most looking forward to — the truffle cream gnocchi! Definitely earns the title of a gnocchi restaurant worth visiting!

The gnocchi had a nice chewy texture that went perfectly with the rich, smooth truffle cream sauce. The sauce was creamy and savory — especially good for someone like me who loves gnocchi. If you're hunting for good gnocchi in Dunsan-dong, I'd recommend the gnocchi set.
Choosing clam vongole as the set pasta

The clam vongole pasta we chose was delicious too.

The clean, signature vongole flavor had a slight kick of spice, so it never felt heavy. If the truffle cream gnocchi was soft and savory, the vongole was clean and mildly spicy — alternating between the two worked really well :) If you order the gnocchi set, I'd say pairing it with the vongole is a great match.
Date night or family dinner: wine and baby chairs

Bologna also has wine that pairs well with the Western-style dishes, so it seemed like a great spot for an evening date. With the European atmosphere on top, enjoying a glass of wine with the meal felt really lovely!
They also had baby chairs ready, so families visiting with children should be able to dine comfortably too. Beyond dates, I think it's also a solid option for anyone looking for a family dinner spot in Dunsan-dong.
A cute herb salt to finish the meal

As we finished our meal and were about to leave, a staff member came over to thank us for visiting and gave us two cute little herb salts. A small gift, but that kind of thoughtful touch made the whole meal end on a great note.

Great food, great atmosphere — that's Bologna Daejeon Dunsan Branch. Especially seeing how the place filled up and a waiting line formed as time passed during our visit, I get why it's such a popular restaurant in Dunsan-dong and near Daejeon City Hall Station!

If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere restaurant in Daejeon, or somewhere to go on a date in Dunsan-dong, I'd recommend Bologna Daejeon Dunsan Branch! If you especially love chewy gnocchi, definitely try the truffle cream gnocchi :)
