Truffle cream gnocchi set at Bologna, a Daejeon Italian restaurant

Hi, this is Gorace! I was craving pasta last weekend so I went to 'Bologna,' a well-known Italian restaurant just a minute's walk from Daejeon City Hall Station. The place genuinely felt like stepping into a little Italian restaurant~ Let me introduce Bologna, where the ragu sauce is stirred by hand for four hours and tastes amazing.

Bologna's exterior has such a strong Italian feel~ Even before stepping inside, I already felt like I'd traveled abroad. Whenever I see restaurants with interiors this well put-together, I think, wow, that's real taste... could I ever pull this off? That's always my first thought.

You can make a walk-in reservation through Catch Table, or reserve ahead via Naver Reservation! Nice not having to stand in line in the blazing sun.

What is the dining room at Bologna like?

Bologna Daejeon Dunsan Branch is an Italian restaurant with a spacious interior and generous spacing between tables. The wood-tone interior mixed with marble is harmonious and satisfying. There are lots of framed pictures on the walls, and they suit the space surprisingly well.

First point in its favor: the interior is spacious. Second point in its favor: the tables are spaced generously apart.

Little decorative pieces are placed around the space with real atmosphere! European-style windows and charming little items~ I really love windows that open top-and-bottom like that. Good natural light too.

What comes in the gnocchi set, and what does it cost?

We picked Bologna's gnocchi set! It comes with the default pre-meal bread and cream soup, plus salad, bolognese ragu pasta, and truffle cream gnocchi. I took a bad photo so it looks like a white ragu pasta in the picture, but it's actually bolognese haha. And since they give you gelato for writing a review, of course I wrote one! I'm the type to always write a review if there's an event for it — how about you all?

Pre-meal ciabatta, salad and basil mushroom soup

First came the pre-meal bread, salad, and soup! The table setting was pretty, which made it look even more delicious. They said the bread is made in-house — crispy outside, chewy inside. The olive oil was fragrant too, so I gobbled it all up haha. The salad was fresh too, so I devoured that just as fast.

How do the bolognese ragu pasta and truffle cream gnocchi taste?

Today's mains! Bolognese ragu pasta and truffle cream gnocchi. Need I say more about the taste~

They said the ragu pasta is stirred by hand for four hours. Maybe that's why the sauce has such deep flavor — worlds apart from store-bought ragu. The wide noodles pair so well with the sauce! There's an olive ciabatta on top, and piling sauce onto that is pure bliss. I heard they recently added a ragu lasagna too, so next time I'd love to try that — it's bound to be delicious!

The cream truffle gnocchi was a great combination too. The cream wasn't heavy at all, and it went so well with the walnuts on top! The truffle aroma drifted up nicely, so one bite of pasta, one bite of gnocchi — it just kept disappearing. Even though I'm not usually a fan of cream dishes, I could eat this without feeling weighed down.

Wow, it's delicious no matter how you eat it. We were still eating salad when the ragu pasta arrived and dove in so fast that everything ended up on the same plate haha.

Yogurt was the recommended flavor — refreshing and delicious. Bologna, an Italian restaurant near Daejeon City Hall Station, is great to visit with friends, a partner, family, or a group! The atmosphere is nice, the spacious dining room feels open, and it was comfortable to eat in. The food doesn't taste like a common chain at all — it tastes like it was made with real care, so I really enjoyed it 🥰 The location is great too, so it'd be nice to stop by after shopping at Daejeon Galleria. Recommended!
