Ocean-view café in Gangneung with corn drinks: Baegya Coffee
In short
Baegya Coffee is a large ocean-view café directly in front of Sageunjin Beach in Gangneung. I sat on the third floor with my child and tried the corn ice cream, corn cream shot latte, and grapefruit ade; the sweet, nutty corn flavors and beach walk stayed with me, though the rooftop was a no-kids zone and closed because of rain.

On the last day of my Gangwon trip, I stopped by Baegya Coffee (백야커피), directly in front of Sageunjin Beach, because I wanted to rest slowly while looking at the sea. The interior was spacious and tidy, and the ocean stretched out beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, making it a pleasant place to spend time as the trip came to an end.

Where is Baegya Coffee, and how does parking work?
The address is 607 Haean-ro, Gangneung-si, on floors 1–3. The original post lists its hours as 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, with last orders at 8:30 PM.
You can park in front of the building or in the uphill parking lot. If you park uphill, you can enter directly onto the second floor.

What are the ocean-view seats and amenities like?
Baegya Coffee is a large café spread across the first through third floors. After looking around each level, we settled on the third floor.

The second floor was also a good place to look out at the sea. There was a phone charging service, and every floor had restrooms, a self-packing station, and high chairs.

There were many tables for four on the third floor where we stayed. This floor also had a restroom, an individual packing station, and high chairs.
Can children use the rooftop?
The rooftop is a no-kids zone, which disappointed my child. It was raining and overcast on the day we visited, so entry was prohibited. We could not use the rooftop and only took photos from outside.

What did we order from the bakery and drinks?
There was a wide selection of bakery items. We ordered Oksigi Ice Cream, corn cream shot latte, and grapefruit ade for my child.

What did the Oksigi Ice Cream taste like?
I started with the signature Oksigi Ice Cream, a corn ice cream. The sweet kernels and the nutty, smooth corn-flavored ice cream suited my taste well. Perhaps because I had it in the late-summer heat, it tasted even better.
As the ice cream began to melt slightly, it looked like a chicken's face, and we laughed about it for quite a while. Both its flavor and appearance stayed with me.

How were the corn cream shot latte and grapefruit ade?
The corn cream shot latte had a nutty flavor similar to the ice cream, with coffee added. The smooth corn cream and coffee came together naturally, and it was sweet and nutty, making it easy to drink.

The grapefruit ade had a pleasant texture as the bits of fruit popped in the drink. My child also said the grapefruit was sweet and tasty.

Can you walk along the beach after visiting the café?
After spending time at the café, we went down to Sageunjin Beach right in front of it. We watched the incoming waves, climbed on the rocks, and enjoyed the Gangneung sea a little longer.
My child said they wanted to pick up litter on the beach, so we collected some together. Resting while looking at the sea, walking along the beach, and even cleaning it became a memory from the last day of our trip.
