Where is Geurimseu Cafe in Cheonan?

Geurimseu Cafe is a large bakery and brunch café on the edge of Cheonan's Dongnam-gu, sitting right below a mountain. It's a spot you need a car to get to, so when a friend came to visit again, we drove out for some fresh air and ended up here.

It's a big café at the foot of a mountain, out on the edge of town, so we had to drive. The mountain view from the café is gorgeous — it's a real brunch café. Since it's tucked away in a quiet spot outside the city, there was something fun about the journey to find it.

Inside, it's set up almost like a plant garden, which gives it a fresh feeling. It's really spacious and pleasant, and the bakery and brunch food are genuinely good — a proper café worth visiting for the food alone.

What bread does the Geurimseu Cafe bakery have?

Geurimseu Cafe's best-selling bread is the white cream castella bread at ₩6,300. True to being a proper bakery, they had a good variety of breads.

There were other breads too — slice cake, bagels, salt bread, sandwiches, and more. I liked that everything was kept in cases so no dust could get in. The bread prices seemed to be about the same as the drink prices.

This is the salt bread rusk I got from a review event. It's got that sweet-and-salty flavor — totally delicious!!

Coffee bean options and bingsu (shaved ice) menu

At Geurimseu Cafe you can choose from three coffee bean options. They also sell bingsu (shaved ice dessert). I was curious about the ice cream bar bingsu, so I'll have to try that next time.

  • No.1: Nutty and dark
  • No.2: Savory milk chocolate flavor
  • No.3: Decaf, roasted nut flavor

It's nice being able to pick your own option. 👍

Diavolo pizza, brunch menu and the 10% takeout discount

My friend ordered this pizza to take home — Diavolo pizza for ₩16,000. I thought it would be a small size, but it turned out to be quite a bit bigger than expected.

The café's brunch menu here includes lasagna, pasta, risotto, and chicken salad.

We got the 10% takeout discount, ₩1,600 off. I also got an additional ₩2,000 off my ade, stacked on top.

What are the seating and interior like?

The modern, simple furniture arrangement at Geurimseu Cafe was really pretty. The seats were spaced far apart, so you couldn't even hear people chatting at the next table. It was great for a leisurely chat with my friend.

One perk of a large café like this is the high ceilings, which open up your sightline completely — there's no cramped feeling at all in the space^^

The chairs and tables came in a variety of shapes. It had a cozy, comfortable feel that made it a memorable café.

There were plenty of air-purifying plants, which kept the interior feeling fresh. It has an arboretum-like vibe, and the decor with all its little props stood out too — it's a great photo zone if you're with kids.

Rooftop garden mountain view and outdoor tables

On the first floor of Geurimseu Cafe there are separate men's and women's restrooms, plus an elevator up to the rooftop garden.

This is the rooftop garden with the mountain view. On the day I visited, the afternoon was still hot, so no one was sitting up there. I thought it would be lovely to sit at the outdoor tables once the cooler fall weather comes in.

Down on the first floor, someone was enjoying teatime at the outdoor tables. There was a pool next to the tables too, but since it wasn't swimming season, there was no water in it.

This must be the owner's dog. It was the first time I'd seen a Dalmatian in person — such a rare breed to spot. Handsome fella haha ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Parking at Geurimseu Cafe and final thoughts

Geurimseu Cafe's parking lot is big enough to handle a group. It's a café that's easy to park at and has a great atmosphere on top of that.

You don't need anything fancy or special with a friend — just chatting at a café is healing enough. Another grateful day today.
