Large Cheonan café for beef brisket perilla cream pasta: Siyudang
In short
Siyudang is a large mountain-view brunch café on Hyuyangrim-gil in Pungse-myeon, Cheonan. On a morning drive with her mom, the writer set out chicken steak rosé risotto, beef brisket perilla leaf cream pasta and a ricotta salad on one table, then looked around the 4th-floor zinnia garden and the peak-shaped pastry display. With wide seating and open mountain and field views, Siyudang is an easy pick for a big-café brunch in Cheonan.

Sometimes when the timing works out, I like going to a café with my mom for a good chat. This time we combined a drive with a nice brunch! The place we headed to was Siyudang, a café in Pungse, Cheonan.

I'd been here with my mom a few times before, so it had been a while since I came back — and as always, the spacious interior and open natural scenery caught my eye first. This time, instead of just having coffee, we decided to properly try the brunch menu.

Where is Siyudang, and is there parking? A drive through Pungse-myeon, Cheonan
Siyudang is located in the Pungse-myeon area of Cheonan, making it a nice destination for a drive. Best of all, there's a large dedicated parking lot, so arriving by car was easy.
With plenty of parking, moving around by car with my mom felt effortless.

Inside Siyudang: a large Cheonan café with mountain and field views
Walking into Siyudang, the first thing that caught my eye was the lush green scenery stretching out. The layout takes in mountains and fields at a glance, so on a nice day, just sitting and looking at the greenery felt relaxing.

The interior has high ceilings and generous spacing between seats. Being a large-scale Cheonan café, it's divided into several sections, so it was easy to pick a seat we liked.

Sitting across from my mom, it never felt cramped, and we could enjoy a slow meal while looking out at the view.

The top-floor zinnia garden and outdoor seating at Siyudang
On the top floor of Siyudang, there's a zinnia garden full of blooming flowers.

Stepping outside, the surrounding mountains look even more refreshing, so on a nice day, taking a photo outdoors would come out pretty.

My mom always loved the outdoor view whenever we came to Siyudang, and this time too, we chatted for a while looking out the window.

Siyudang's bakery: peak-shaped pastries and cakes
Siyudang isn't just about brunch — it also has a wide range of bakery items and desserts. Several kinds of bread are displayed on the first floor, so we browsed slowly before ordering.

What especially caught my eye were the peak-shaped pastries modeled after the surrounding mountains. Each one had a name — Nogyeombong, Jaunbong, Unambong — which made the bakery display more fun than a typical one.

Besides those, there was a variety of familiar bakery items too — salt bread, croissants, financiers, cream donuts.

The cake showcase also had several kinds of cake on display, including rainbow cheesecake and pistachio cake.

Coming for brunch but browsing the bread and desserts too, it seemed like it could take a while just to choose.

Personally, what I found convenient was that a self-service packing counter, a microwave, and an oven toaster are set up on one side of the store. You can pack up leftover bread or warm it up, which seemed handy from a customer's point of view.

Three brunch dishes on one table: risotto, pasta and salad
It felt like a waste to just have coffee that day, so my mom and I ordered brunch together. We got chicken steak rosé risotto, beef bulgogi perilla leaf cream pasta, and ricotta salad.

Laid out together, the three dishes made for a more generous spread than I expected. First, the ricotta salad had crunchy vegetables topped with soft ricotta cheese and cherry tomatoes.

Eating the vegetables together with the ricotta cheese was soft and nutty, and the balsamic dressing added a nice tang.
It was a good light salad to have before the main dishes.

Chicken steak rosé risotto at Siyudang
The chicken steak rosé risotto had a whole thick, nicely browned chicken steak sitting on top of the risotto.
The chicken was browned on the outside and stayed moist inside. Eating the risotto with the smooth rosé sauce gave a savory, slightly spicy flavor. Cutting up the chicken and eating it with the risotto made for a pretty filling dish on its own.

Beef brisket perilla leaf cream pasta
The dish I was most curious about that day was the beef bulgogi perilla leaf cream pasta! It had savory beef bulgogi in a rich cream sauce, topped generously with shredded perilla leaf (kkaennip). Pairing perilla leaf with cream pasta worked better than I expected. With the beef bulgogi added in too, the savory flavor deepened, and it was great for sharing with my mom.

Is Siyudang good for a morning brunch with your parents?
Since it had been a while since my mom and I coordinated a morning outing, we spent time more leisurely than usual. Over a good brunch, we caught up on all kinds of things, and after eating, we slowly toured the store and the outdoor space.

Being a large-scale Cheonan café, Siyudang had plenty of seating room, and above all, the mountain and field views out the window left an impression. So it felt more suited to a Cheonan large-café brunch than to a café you'd visit just for a drink.

With pasta, risotto, and salad on the brunch menu, plus a wide range of bakery and cake options, it was nice being able to enjoy a meal and dessert all in one place. Especially if you're visiting with a parent, being able to eat slowly in a spacious setting and take in the outdoor view seemed like a great morning-date course.
I'd been to Siyudang with my mom before, but eating brunch together this time gave it a different feel. With good food in front of us, we talked about all kinds of things, and the time flew by.
A café date with mom really is best kept simple — just good food and a lot of chatting, haha.

If you're looking for a large-café brunch in Cheonan and want to enjoy spacious seating along with open natural scenery, Siyudang in Pungse is worth checking out. On a day when I wanted a relaxed drive and brunch around Cheonan, this was the place where my mom and I enjoyed a good meal with a mountain view.
