Gyuen-dang Avenue France Gwanggyo Branch has both two-person tables and larger group seating, and when I went on a weekday lunch, it was completely full. I'd read a lot of reviews saying it's one of the top Japanese restaurants near Gwanggyo Jungang Station because of its clean, cozy atmosphere, and going in person, I found it was really true. I had made a Naver Reservation, so thankfully I could sit down right away — I was so glad I booked ahead haha.

Gyuen-dang's menu: tenderloin gyukatsu and sirloin gyukatsu

Gyuen-dang's main menu items are gyukatsu (Japanese-style cutlet), omurice, and rice bowls — we ordered tenderloin gyukatsu and sirloin gyukatsu. And apparently there's a review event giving you 2 pieces of mini okonomiyaki, so make sure to join in and eat well, everyone!!

Each table has a personal grill, and after we ordered, they lit the fire for us!! I was already getting excited thinking about grilling it myself... And there was a guide on how to eat the omurice, and I thought, ah, I should've ordered that too haha.

What comes with the gyukatsu set: miso soup, salad, salt, wasabi, Isigny butter

Finally the full set with tenderloin gyukatsu and sirloin gyukatsu was ready. The rice portion was really generous!! I loved that part so much. And it came with miso soybean paste soup, salad, sauce, wasabi, salt, and Isigny butter. If you're looking for a Japanese restaurant near Gwanggyo Jungang Station, you can't just walk past this gyukatsu... the meat quality really looked great.

By the way, Isigny butter is expensive, so I was surprised they give you this butter — I was already looking forward to the gyukatsu taking on that buttery flavor. We put the butter on the grill plate and let it melt!!

Cooking it to my liking on the grill with the butter slightly melted, then taking a bite — the meat melted away in my mouth as the savory flavor exploded!! With the added fun of grilling it carefully myself, I could really feel the true charm of this top Japanese restaurant near Gwanggyo Jungang Station~

My partner was grilling away really enthusiastically too~ haha, having so much fun with it, and the visuals were insane! The sizzling sound was enough to make you laugh out loud.

The breading thickness was just right too — even just dipped in salt it was delicious, but dipping it in the sauce, wow... it just melted away. Eating it with rice made it so filling. I'd heard some people say this is the best gyukatsu among Japanese restaurants near Gwanggyo Jungang Station, and after trying it myself, I have to agree!
