I heard there was a great Peking duck place in Ingye-dong, so I went to check it out~~ Since my husband and I don't have many chances left for just-the-two-of-us dates, we rushed over to Ingye-dong haha

Reserved tables and the lunch-only menu at Gang's Duck
The interior of Gang's Duck was also a clean model example of a black-and-red Chinese restaurant. It really gave off a high-end Chinese dining vibe!! We arrived a bit early, and it looked like they host a lot of company dinners too — many group reservations were already set up✔️
We had booked ahead, and our name and reserved table were shown on the kiosk, with everything already set up — it felt like being treated like VIPs haha
Looking at the menu, there were lunch-only items, so it seems like a great option for people working near Suwon City Hall‼️ If it were near my place, I'd honestly come all the time🥹
Before the food arrived, my husband ordered a draft beer, and he said it was the closest thing to the best draft beer of his life, which he had in Japan. He got super excited lolol🤣 I was so curious,,,,,,,, since Kirin draft in Fukuoka is our all-time favorite beer lolol

At Gang's Duck, they carve and plate the Peking duck right in front of you. It was fun just watching‼️
Ta-da〰️ Doesn't it look so neat and delicious!! This is half a Peking duck — it looks small at first, but the portion turns out to be quite decent as you eat. On top is the crispy-cooked duck skin, and underneath is the moist duck meat, plated together😋
When you order Peking duck, you get pancakes, cucumber, and scallion shreds to wrap it with, plus a card on the table explaining the best way to enjoy it — very convenient and enjoyable.
Why you dip the Peking duck skin in sugar
Following the instructions, I first dipped the crispy skin on top into sugar and ate it. At first I thought it was chili salt, but it was sugar! With the crispy duck fat and the sweet sugar together, it was a flavor I'd never tried before, and it was delicious╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ Total bullseye for my husband, who loves rich, fatty food.
Wrapping cucumber and scallion in a thin pancake and dipping it in sauce is truly delicious. If you want more chewiness, just eat two layers of pancake stacked together, and the sauce paired really well too (I want to eat it again).
Mala cream shrimp with huajiao pepper
The second dish we ordered was mala cream shrimp🍤🍤 This is genuinely delicious. I was torn between this and other menu items, but this comes with my full recommendation!!! The mala flavor was just the right level, and the shrimp was soft yet crispy — overall I felt this was a Chinese restaurant that really knows what it's doing. Truly one of the best restaurants in Ingye-dong, Suwon👍🏻👍🏻
If the mala flavor is only a faint hint, it's not great, but this had huajiao mixed in too, and the balance between the cream and the mala was really good haha
Pancakes, cucumber and scallion come with free refills
We ordered extra pancakes, cucumber, and scallion! These side items keep getting refilled. The scallion shreds had the spiciness toned down while keeping the crunchy texture, which made them even better.
Next visit to Gang's Duck: the dongpo-yuk
After a very satisfying meal, I went to the restroom inside and found even disposable mouthwash ready for a clean rinse. That level of hygiene really impressed me^^ We were too full to try it, but the dongpo-yuk (braised pork belly) at other tables looked so tender that I'm planning to come back just for that!!
For anyone in Ingye-dong looking for a good spot for a date, a company dinner, a gathering, or lunch, I recommend Gang's Duck❤️
