In short

Bulhyangjip Mulwang Lake Main Branch is a Korean grilled-meat restaurant near Mulwang Lake in Siheung, Gyeonggi. Its pre-cooked charcoal scallion bulgogi was especially memorable wrapped with bibim guksu, and the spacious parking lot and separated seating suited a family meal. A lunch stop after walking around Mulwang Lake

After a walk around Mulwang Lake, I found such a, such a delicious lunch spot that I had to share it! 🤭🤭🤭

Bulhyangjip, visible even from afar~ It already had that great-restaurant aura from a distance. I’m hungry! Let’s go, let’s go.

Heading toward Bulhyangjip

If you go a little farther up from Bulhyangjip, there’s a huge parking lot! You have to keep going up! We didn’t know that and parked below ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Catch Table, supposedly where only great restaurants are listed lol—not Catch Catch. Ah, I got into Catch Catch late and now it keeps looping in my ears ㅠ sigh.

Dog-friendly seating and spacious separated areas

Oh, I loved how open it was—there was floor seating, dog-friendly seating, and the spaces were separated! I think it would be fine for groups too. The table next to us seemed to be a family, and I thought it would be so nice to bring the older members of the family here sometime :)

My dog isn’t getting turned away at the door today 🫠🫠🫠🫠 Walking in with confidence!

I really love this kind of thoughtful touch. Coat hangers ㅠㅠㅠㅠ It’s getting cold now, so somewhere to put your outerwear is essential, you know. This thoughtfulness gets me every time.

Is it okay for the view while eating to be this nice? Ahh… it really gets the appetite going.

View from the dining table

This is the self-service bar corner. Wait, they give you wraps like this? Do you have any left over? And it’s even arranged so neatly ㅠ

Next to it were instant coffee and American coffee. Usually there’s only one, but here they had both haha. It really hit my preferences, seriously, oh my 😆😆😆😆

Charcoal scallion bulgogi that arrives already cooked

It made its grand entrance with the side dishes. Why can I only see the meat.. haha. I was hungry and wondering when it would cook, but they said it comes out fully cooked already, so I cheered inside. Cooking it again takes a long time, so I loved that they cut out that wait ㅠㅠㅠ

We ordered the charcoal scallion bulgogi, bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles), and doenjang-jjigae (soybean-paste stew), plus steamed rice too haha. We were hungry 🙄🙄

Just looking at all those scallions piled on top makes your mouth water, right? It’s delicious with the salad in that mayo-based sauce and the meat together too!! Bulhyangjip’s strength is that everything tastes good together, so your palate never gets tired of it. The downside is that you end up overeating.

First, I put the basics into a wrap and dip it in soy sauce, and this is so good ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Bulgogi with a wrap and soy sauce

What is this soy sauce ㅜㅠㅠㅠㅠ It’s the best, isn’t it ㅜㅜㅠㅜㅜ It really maximized the flavor of the bulgogi. It wasn’t salty, and a gentle soy-sauce aroma came through.

Soft tofu doenjang-jjigae and bibim guksu together

What really surprised me was that I’d never seen soft tofu in doenjang-jjigae before. And it was delicious too! I mixed it into rice and ate it up in no time. Wow, I’ve been getting Mounjaro injections lately. That day, I was Win-jaro instead hahaha.

Then the bibim guksu came out too!!! Yay!!!! I asked for it without cucumber for people who don’t like cucumber, and they accommodated it ㅠㅠㅠ Thank you. Everyone, you absolutely have to wrap bulgogi with bibim guksu. It’s insane. Just as galbi goes with bibim naengmyeon, bibim guksu belongs with charcoal bulgogi!!! Write that down!!!!!

Bibim guksu requested without cucumber

Maybe he knew Mom was eating; this little one was so well behaved. What a good boy.

Dog sitting calmly during the meal

As we were leaving, I saw this and it looks like they grill the bulgogi here!!! Too bad I didn’t get to watch it firsthand.. ㅠㅠ

When I paid, I saw they were thoughtful right to the end ㅜ Dental floss is honestly wild. We left happily, patting our full bellies with a candy in our mouths. It was the grilled-meat restaurant where I ate the best among the restaurants around Mulwang Reservoir. The best, the best! I’ll be back next time.
