Couple's shared lunch at Plan A, a 4th-floor Pohang ocean-view

My boyfriend and I went to Pohang and were trying to figure out where to grab lunch, so we ended up at Plan A Restaurant. Since we'd come all the way to Pohang, I wanted to eat somewhere with a sea view rather than just any ordinary restaurant. Luckily there was an ocean-view spot near Songdo Beach, so we checked it out.

In the end, the food was tasty, but what really stuck with me was eating while looking out at the sea. If you want good food and a sea view on a trip with your boyfriend, this place is pretty solid. Here's my write-up of Plan A Restaurant, a Songdo, Pohang spot I visited in person.

Where is Plan A Restaurant in Pohang, and where do you park?

Plan A Restaurant's address is 1189 Huimangdae-ro, 4th floor, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It sits right on Songdo Beach, directly along the Songdo coastal road.

If you stand with your back to the Goddess Statue at Songdo Beach and walk about 100m to the right, you'll spot the PLAN.A sign — it's on the 4th floor of the building next to the Songdo Starbucks. Using the Starbucks as a landmark, we found it pretty easily. It's also about 1km from Jukdo Market, roughly a 5-minute drive.

If you're driving, just search Plan A Restaurant in your navigation, and you can use nearby parking lots for free. I was a little worried about parking, so it was nice to know there was free parking around. There's also an elevator, so getting up to the 4th floor is easy, and wheelchair access is available too.

What is the 4th-floor ocean-view dining room like?

The first thing that caught my eye as soon as we got up to the 4th floor was, of course, the Songdo Beach ocean view. Step off the elevator into the restaurant and the sea opens up toward the terrace — the view was better than I expected.

Eating lunch with a view like that, all the way out in Pohang, really made it feel like a proper trip. My boyfriend and I sat there talking for a long while just looking at the sea.

The interior overall was clean and had a relaxed feel. It wasn't too formal, but still had a nice atmosphere for a date meal, which I liked. Especially on a nice day, sitting by the window or near the terrace with the sea view would be even better.

We visited for lunch, but apparently in the evening you can also see the POSCO night view after sunset. Daytime brings the Songdo Beach ocean view, evening brings the POSCO night lights — the mood must be quite different depending on the time you go.

Plan B chop steak and beef tomato spaghetti: a lunch order for two

What we ordered at Plan A Restaurant that day was the Plan B chop steak and the beef tomato spaghetti. The Plan B chop steak is 120g for ₩22,000, and the beef tomato spaghetti is ₩16,000.

Since it was just the two of us, we decided to order one of each and share. When we travel, we like ordering a few different dishes to split rather than one each per person, so that's what we did this time too.

The food came out faster than expected. We got there hungry, so I was glad the wait wasn't long, haha. As soon as it arrived, we snapped a few photos and dug right in. For some reason, I always seem to get hungrier than usual while traveling.

The chop steak paired nicely with the pasta — a good combo. The tomato spaghetti was solidly tasty too, and we happily split it between us. Eating the tomato sauce noodles alongside felt light and easy, and switching back and forth with the chop steak kept us going back for more.

How does Plan A Restaurant work as a Pohang lunch date?

The best part of this Pohang trip was, honestly, eating lunch with a sea view at Plan A Restaurant. Good food matters, but so does the atmosphere you can only get in that particular place.

My boyfriend and I ate while chatting about the trip and where to go next, taking our time over lunch while looking at the sea. It felt totally different from eating near home. With the sea in view through the window the whole time, the meal itself felt like part of the trip.

Honestly, I kept glancing at the sea between bites, haha. It felt like, since we'd come all the way to Pohang, this was exactly the kind of place we should be eating at. If you're visiting as a couple, the atmosphere alone will probably make it even more satisfying.

Plan A Restaurant hours, break time and what to know before you go

Plan A Restaurant is right by Songdo Beach, so it's a great stop during a Pohang trip. It's good for couples looking for a lunch spot while traveling like us, and also fine for family meals or larger groups.

Reservations and group bookings are available, and takeout is possible too. It's also listed as pet-friendly, so that's worth noting.

Hours are 11:45–21:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays through Fridays, with a break time of 15:15–17:00. On Saturdays and Sundays, break time is 15:30–17:00, and it's closed every Tuesday. Last order is at 20:30. Since break times vary a bit by day, it's a good idea to check the schedule before visiting.

Is Plan A Restaurant in Songdo worth it? Final verdict

Plan A Restaurant, which I visited with my boyfriend during our Pohang trip. We had chop steak and tomato spaghetti for lunch, and the food overall was tasty, but above all, the Songdo Beach ocean view is what stuck with me.

Eating lunch with a sea view all the way out in Pohang somehow made the food taste even better than usual, haha. Being on the 4th floor with the sea in full view was a big plus, and the clean, relaxed atmosphere made it a good spot for a date meal with my boyfriend. To sum up,

Pohang really is the place to come for the sea, haha.

Next time my boyfriend and I come back to Pohang, I'd love to visit in the evening and eat with the POSCO night view this time. Since we ate a big lunch, I should walk off some of it by the sea a bit more before heading to our next stop. :)
