In short
Plan A Restaurant is an ocean-view Western restaurant on the 4th floor of the shopping building at Songdo Beach in Pohang, Gyeongbuk. Arriving with her mother just as lunch service was winding down, the writer ordered mushroom basil cream risotto (15,000 won), carbonara spaghetti (15,000 won), beef tomato spaghetti (16,000 won) and an orange ade (4,500 won), for a total of 50,500 won. Today's a date day with my mom. When I think of Western food at Songdo Beach in Pohang, this place comes to mind right away. I've been to Plan A Restaurant plenty of times before with friends.
Where to park and how to find the entrance to Plan A Restaurant
Plan A Restaurant is on the 4th floor of the commercial building at Songdo Beach in Pohang, and you can park in the parking line in front of the building. That said, I can't guarantee there'll be an open spot right in front of the shop you're heading to, so you might have to park a bit further away and walk over.

After parking safely, off we went to Plan A Restaurant~ You go in through the entrance to the left of the GS25 convenience store.

A lot of families come to Plan A. It's on the 4th floor, but since there's an elevator, anyone — young or old — can visit without any trouble.

Arriving at the end of lunch service: waiting and break time at Plan A
A clean, tidy interior. My mom and I picked a slightly awkward hour to visit, right as lunch was wrapping up, so a lot of people were finishing up and leaving. Which means if you go right at lunchtime, you might have to wait!

- Closed every Tuesday
- Mon, Wed–Sun 11:45–21:00
- Break time 15:30–17:00
- Last order 20:30
There's a break time right after lunch hours, so if you're planning a visit, definitely check the hours and avoid that window!
Ocean-view window seats and the six-person table
Plan A Restaurant also has a table that seats 6, so if you're planning to visit with a larger group, I'd recommend booking ahead through Naver.

Plenty of space and lots of window seats — Plan A Restaurant is a great spot to enjoy Western food while taking in the ocean view.

It looked like it might rain in the afternoon and the sky was gloomy — and right now, as I'm writing this post, thunder just rolled in and it's raining. There's also something nice about heading outside to take in the view on a sunny day.

When my mom and I visited, almost every seat was occupied with diners, so we settled into a spot near the restroom.

You order through the tablet installed at each table, and pay at the counter after your meal, right before you leave.

The three dishes we ordered at Plan A Restaurant: 50,500 won total
- Mushroom basil cream risotto ₩15,000
- Carbonara spaghetti ₩15,000
- Beef tomato spaghetti ₩16,000
- Orange ade ₩4,500
- Total ₩50,500

Orange ade, 4,500 won
I liked that the carbonation wasn't too strong, and the orange was finely blended so there was no weird texture when drinking it. It was perfect for cleansing the palate between bites of the spaghetti and risotto.

Carbonara spaghetti, 15,000 won
Just the right amount of creaminess, without being greasy — nice and light. The noodles were cooked well too, so even my mom, who loves carbonara, ate it happily. My mom even helped film a video for her daughter who insists on taking photos to document everything. Thanks, mom, haha.

Beef tomato spaghetti, 16,000 won
The beef tomato spaghetti had a taste that was simply true to the basics! The tomato sauce with bulgogi in it was so smooth that my mom ended up eating more of the sauce than I did. She said she wasn't great at twirling the noodles at first, but by the end she was spinning her fork with ease, haha.

Mushroom basil cream risotto, 15,000 won
All the pastas were delicious, but personally, I reached for the mushroom basil cream risotto the most. It had a savory, mellow flavor with a soft creaminess that melted in my mouth — it felt like a healthy dish that just settled my stomach.
My mom gave the risotto her stamp of approval too.

The cucumber pickles served alongside were just tangy enough, and paired nicely with the meal. We chatted about this and that while eating, and before we knew it, every dish was licked clean, haha.
