Mapo café with parking and blueberry bread: Noknok

In short

Noknok is a two-story bakery café in Mapo, Seoul, with parking and pet-friendly seating on the second floor. I worked at a long table upstairs over iced Americano, blueberry bread, and Basque cheesecake. Verdict: a café I would gladly revisit in Yeonnam-dong.

Noknok is a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Hongik University Station. Yeonnam-dong is easy to visit by public transportation, but it is not easy to find a café with parking when you are driving, so I liked that Noknok has parking. It is available after 17:00 on weekdays and anytime on weekends.

Noknok café information

Noknok is one of the rare two-story bakery cafés in Yeonnam-dong, so it is quite large.

Kiosk ordering and a wide bakery selection

Ordering was easy through the kiosk. Considering its Yeonnam-dong location, I was happy that the coffee prices felt less expensive than expected. In particular, a takeout iced Americano is ₩1,900! If it were near my home, I think I would stop by every day, haha.

As you would expect from a Yeonnam bakery café, there were so many choices. There were cakes, sandwiches, salt bread, chewy loaves, baked sweets, cookies, and more, so it was hard to choose. I also liked that every bread display had a cover. Since it is a bakery used by many people, it was nice to see the bread being kept hygienically.

Different seating moods on the first and second floors

Each area of Noknok had a different feel. The first floor has comfy sofa seats and an overall hip, stylish atmosphere, making it a nice space to visit with friends or a partner.

The second floor, on the other hand, was a little brighter than the first and had long tables, making it a good place to use a laptop or get work done. I had things to do on my laptop that day, so I took a seat upstairs. The music playing in the café was atmospheric and not overly loud, so it did not interfere much with conversation or focusing on work. Each window seat had an outlet, which made it convenient to spend time charging a laptop or phone.

Noknok is a pet-friendly café, but pets may use the second floor only and cannot sit on chairs or sofas. I recommend using a leash or a dog stroller.

Iced Americano and blueberry bread

I ordered an iced Americano, blueberry bread, and Basque cheesecake.

Basque cheesecake paired with coffee

I could choose the coffee beans for the iced Americano. There were nutty, acidic, and decaf options, and I chose the nutty beans I usually like. The coffee was not bitter, and I liked its clean taste.

The blueberry bread had a chewy texture and was filled with blueberry cream, making it refreshing. Then there was Noknok's signature Basque cheesecake. One bite brought out the rich flavor of the cheese, and I loved how softly it melted in my mouth. It was a great pairing with the iced Americano.

A café I want to return to in Yeonnam-dong

If you are looking for a café with a nice atmosphere in Yeonnam-dong, I recommend Noknok. The first floor is a comfortable space with a hip mood, while the second is bright and great for working at large tables; it is also pet-friendly, so the appeal is getting two different moods in one place. Above all, it is a café with parking in Yeonnam-dong! I would like to revisit the next time I have a reason to be in Yeonnam-dong.
