Seongdong hair salon for men's part perm and down perm: Oreudeubi

This was already my second visit to Oreudeubi in Sangwangsimni! As someone with curly hair, I got a straightening treatment at Oreudeubi Hair last spring, and I loved it so much that this time I brought my boyfriend in for a cut + design perm + down perm.

Getting to Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch

Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch is just a three-minute walk from both Sindang Station and Sangwangsimni Station, so it is very conveniently located near the subway. Since I had visited before, it was even easier to find this time.

This time, we were treated by stylist Youngjun. As a serious searcher, I carefully checked Naver reviews and blog posts before booking. To give you the conclusion first: I highly, highly recommend him.

Before the treatment: grown-out down-perm sections sticking up

The hair on top was fine, but... (?) the sections that had been down-permed last time had already grown out a lot and were sticking up here and there. Overall, his hair had grown quite long and looked messy.

First, you fill out a questionnaire, then have a consultation with the stylist before the treatment begins.

A neatly kept salon and waiting area

Every treatment area was kept spotless. Honestly, when I go to a salon, I really dislike seeing dust piled up with flying hair from the customer's perspective, but Oreudeubi was truly neat and clean. The stylists were clearly serious about tidying up and keeping the salon clean throughout.

Youngjun even made sure I had coffee and snacks, so I could wait without getting bored while enjoying them.

Oh, and the power banks provided at the side also played a big role in making the wait easier 🙌🏻 Hair appointments can mean staying at the salon for at least two to four hours, so having power banks available is such a good idea.

From the cut to the part perm and down perm

After looking around the salon, I found him waiting with his cut already finished. Wow... I finally understood what people mean when they say a man's hair makes all the difference. Can you see how much cleaner that stuffy-looking back of the head became with just a cut? I think men are really influenced by their cuts. Maybe because their hair is short, but this made me realize that a cut can be far more important for men than for women!!

This is after the solution for the part perm and down perm was applied. Listening to my boyfriend, I learned that at other salons they had curled all the way to the back of his head. But when he asked why they were not doing that this time, Youngjun said the lower line could be connected neatly with the cut alone, without needing to curl it. There is no need to damage your hair with an unnecessary treatment, right? I was very satisfied with this part too.

According to my boyfriend, his slightly curly hair has the advantage of taking a perm well, but it is also coarse, and as it grows out, the down-permed sections can stick out at a right angle because of the curl!? He said whether the down perm came out well was the key.

A men's perm completed in about 1 hour 20 minutes

From the cut through the part perm and down perm, the whole treatment took about 1 hour 20 minutes, which was incredibly quick compared with women's appointments.

This is his hair after the treatment. Isn't it seriously, seriously pretty? It just felt so, so much more trendy!! I absolutely loved it, and not only me, the person who brought him along—the man himself—really loved it too.

After the style was finished, Youngjun carefully showed him how to blow-dry his hair too, which I appreciated.
