Guri soy crab restaurant refill check with mom: Onggi Kkotgejang
In short
Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch is an all-you-can-eat soy-marinated and spicy crab restaurant on Donggureung-ro in Guri, Gyeonggi. Arriving at 2pm with my mother, I finished the first round of soy crab and asked for a refill: the refilled blue crabs were still packed with meat and came out fridge-cold, tasting even better than the first serving. If you worry that unlimited refills mean lower quality, Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch puts that worry to rest.

This is Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch, a famous all-you-can-eat soy crab spot near Donggureung and Inchang-dong in Guri.
With crab season in full swing, after steaming some crab recently I found myself craving crab marinated in soy sauce instead. While searching for good crab spots in Guri, I found this all-you-can-eat place, Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch. I was a little worried since it's a refill place, but I threw those worries away and ate my heart out with mom.
Where to park at Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch

Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch has parking behind the building. The lot is pretty spacious, so parking wasn't difficult at all.
What the Guri restaurant is like at 2pm

We visited around 2pm and there were still quite a few people eating. Even though it was a bit past lunch hour, seeing customers holding their seats and asking for refills got me even more excited.

Onggi Kkotgejang makes all its sauces from scratch, doesn't reuse any of the banchan including the crab, doesn't use young crab under 6.4cm, and doesn't use crab with a bitter taste — so their standards for crab felt pretty solid. They also said 1% of profits go to helping those in need.

On the table there was also a note about foods to be careful with while eating crab. Foods that could cause stomachaches or diarrhea — watch out when eating crab!!!!

The self-serve bar had extra disposable gloves, wet wipes, and dried seaweed ready, so it was easy to grab as much as you needed.
Menu and banchan at Onggi Kkotgejang

Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch's basic dine-in menu is just the one-person crab set. Prices differ by adult, elementary schooler, and toddler, and since it's all-you-can-eat, the rule is one order per person.

The banchan served alongside the crab were seaweed, flying fish roe, kimchi, bean sprouts, and seasoned greens — all pairing well with the crab.

The soy crab and spicy crab both came out at the same time. I thought it'd be small blue crab, but it was actual flower crab soy crab and spicy crab — amazing 🥹
How does the soy-marinated crab taste?

The soy crab had finely chopped chili on top, giving it a clean, neat look.

The crab meat was pretty substantial — just pressing lightly on the body made the meat pop right out. Firm meat that gets sweeter the more you chew, and zero fishiness — even as a spicy-crab person, I kept eating it.

The guts in the shell were so good it was ridiculous. No bitterness at all, just rich and savory — instant rice drop into the shell!

Mixing the rice into the guts, wrapping it in seaweed, and topping it with crab meat for one bite — that right there is paradise.

The soy sauce for the crab wasn't too salty, which is the magic that kept me eating without getting sick of it.
How sweet is the spicy marinated crab?

The spicy crab had less sweetness than I expected. It wasn't heavy or overly sweet, just clean with a bit of spice — really nice.
What condition was the refilled crab in?
We finished the soy crab first and asked the staff for a refill. The thing you're most curious about at an all-you-can-eat crab place is exactly this — what condition the crab is in when refilled.

Why was the refilled crab so good?? The refilled crab was just as good as the first round. The meat was full and the guts were savory — cold like it just came out of the fridge, it actually felt tastier than the first serving. If you were worried that all-you-can-eat crab places drop in quality the more you refill, you can probably let that worry go here.

In the end we ordered an extra bowl of rice and split it with mom — scraping out every bit of the shell guts to mix into the rice and eating it all up happily.
Is the all-you-can-eat crab worth it?
From soy crab to spicy crab, the meat was substantial and the refilled crab held up just as well, so mom and I ate our fill happily^^ Especially with the not-too-salty soy crab mixed with the shell guts into rice, we cleared two bowls of rice. If you love crab, this is a great place to eat as much as you want. If you want to eat both soy crab and spicy crab to your heart's content with unlimited refills, head to Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch, the go-to all-you-can-eat soy crab spot in Guri.
