Today I'm bringing you an honest review of Burnish Resto, a spot in Jung-gu, Daegu that's famous for its great atmosphere — perfect for dates and gatherings. My friend recommended it big time as a place for wedding invite meetups or blind dates, so I went to check it out. From the entrance I fell for the emotional vibe, and then fell for the food too, haha.

Focaccia before the meal and house pickles

Napa cabbage salad, 10.5

Summer-only cold sweet shrimp pasta, 19.5

Bundaberg grapefruit soda

The focaccia that came out as an appetizer was so savory and delicious. Fluffy and chewy, it really got my appetite going. Dipped deep in olive oil, nom nom.

What does Burnish Resto's napa cabbage salad taste like?
The first dish to arrive was the napa cabbage salad. It came out with Burnish's own house-made anchovy sauce and cheese sprinkled over grilled napa cabbage.

The sweetness of the warm grilled napa cabbage, the savory depth of the anchovy sauce, and the smoky flavor of the bacon all came together for a taste that was way more upscale than expected. It's on a totally different level from an ordinary salad, so I really recommend trying it if you visit.

How is the summer-only cold sweet shrimp pasta?
After the salad got our appetites going, the main event arrived — the cold sweet shrimp pasta. The visual alone was Instagram-perfect.

- Main ingredients: cold capellini noodles, fresh sweet shrimp, creamy avocado, grilled lemon, dill (ANETHUM), seaweed (GELIDIUM AMANSII)
I squeezed a little juice from the grilled lemon and mixed it in — the thin capellini strands were coated in a refreshing oil sauce, making it truly cool and clean-tasting.

The chewy, sweet shrimp, the smooth avocado, and the fragrant dill came together fantastically in every bite. Knowing it's only available in summer made it feel even more special.
Adding extra bread for 2.0

It was so good we ordered extra bread and ate more. Bread-lover instincts, I guess? But honestly, there wasn't a single thing that wasn't delicious.

If you're looking for a restaurant in Jung-gu, Daegu that nails taste, atmosphere, and friendliness all at once, I recommend Burnish Resto :)
