Café between Hapjeong and Mangwon for soufflé pancakes: Petrico

I might gain weight, but I can't give up bread. My skin might break out, but I can't quit flour. Guess I'll just live happily anyway.

I heard a new café near Hapjeong Station had amazing fluffy soufflé pancakes, so this café addict rushed right over — and I fell in love with both the dessert and the warm, sentimental atmosphere. : )

Where is Petrico, and what are its hours and parking?

Petrico, a café near Hapjeong Station, sits in a quiet alley between Mangwon Station and Hapjeong Station. And in this area, having actual parking is a rare and precious thing!

The exterior was already exactly my style, so I was in a good mood before even stepping inside — and the interior was even prettier ❤️

Inside Petrico: the white-and-wood interior

It was bigger inside than I expected, and the overall white + wood interior — exactly my type — gave it a warm, cozy feeling.

The vase arrangements were also nicely done.

And the lush green plants added extra life.

The gerbera daisies were so cute too. Ah, I really need to go raid the flower market soon.

You could feel the owner's sense of style everywhere in the shop. The interior of this café near Hapjeong Station was, overall, cozy and comfortable without being over the top, and I felt good the whole time I was there. : )

The kitchen is clearly visible, which makes me trust the hygiene even more.

Besides the soufflé pancake, Petrico has a fairly wide range of desserts. I want to try the tart next time. Not many places sell granita, but they have that too ❤️

I'm not a big fan of pancakes topped with fruit, so I ordered the classic, and for the drink I went with the milk tea the owner recommended.

Doesn't it look super fluffy just by looking at it? Honestly I was worried about leaving some behind since I was alone, but yeah... I finished that whole thing by myself.

Blueberry spread, maple syrup, and butter — the fundamental combo, good good. >_<

How did the classic soufflé pancake taste?

Ah.... I wanted to drizzle the maple syrup more prettily, but.... this is the sad part of going alone. ㅠㅠ

Honestly you don't even need a knife — it's soft enough to just eat with a fork.

Full egg + butter flavor, and it just melts in your mouth... melts.... ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

My favorite Isigny butter! I stock up on it even at home, hehe. Personally, I'm still team salted over unsalted..^.^

The pancake itself has a mild, subtle flavor, so it went well with everything — butter, blueberry jam, maple syrup — but my personal favorite pairing was the butter.

Let me show you that gorgeous cross-section one more time... ah, I want to eat it again already.

Assam milk tea served in a bottle, with leftovers to take home

When I said I was worried I'd get too full drinking milk tea with the pancake, the owner said it comes in a bottle so I could take home whatever's left. Um? Leftover? What leftover?

The milk tea wasn't too sweet, with a pleasant bitterness, and it paired so well with the pancake.

I really underestimated myself. Finished the milk tea, finished the pancake, right? Awkward laugh^^7 But... okay yes, I am a pig, but honestly, it was so good I couldn't NOT finish it, okay?? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ For real.

• Both Hapjeong and Mangwon are about a 10-minute walk, plus parking makes it even more accessible
