Gimpo café for Americano and bakery browsing: The Nillai

I visited The Nillai, a large café in Gimpo

It feels like so many large cafés have been opening around Gimpo lately. This time, I visited The Nillai, one I had been curious about.

The parking lot was quite spacious, so it was convenient to visit by car. The café was bigger than I expected, and from the moment I walked in, it felt wonderfully open.

After parking and taking the elevator down, the café is directly connected to the G floor.

Time in the media-art space

The space was spacious overall, with an atmosphere that made it nice to sit back and relax.

What especially stood out at The Nillai was the media-art space inside the café. It was not simply somewhere to drink coffee—there was a space where the videos kept changing, and it was fun to stop and look around, haha. Since the visuals kept changing, it was nice to sit for a moment and watch rather than just passing through after one look.

That made me think it would be a nice date spot where you could take photos and look around the space, rather than simply going out for coffee. It has that trendy, newly opened large-café feel, and because the space itself is so big, it also seemed good for visiting with friends or meeting in a larger group.

Check the time before ordering weekday brunch

And when it comes to The Nillai, you cannot leave out the food and bread. It is run by a chef formerly from the 63 Building, and I had heard that you can enjoy refined brunch and bread together, so I was planning to try the brunch menu too.

There were more brunch options than I expected, so it was fun looking through them and deciding what to have. But there was one thing I had not checked properly, haha. When I tried to order brunch, I found out that the weekday brunch menu has a break time.

Weekday brunch menu break time is 15:30–16:30.

If you are visiting for brunch, I think it is best to check the time beforehand. I did not know that, so I ended up saving brunch for next time and ordering an Americano and bread insteadㅠㅠ

A variety of breads and an Americano

Still, there was quite a variety of bread, so it was fun browsing the bakery.

I considered this and that while looking at all the bread on display, and what I chose went really well with the coffee.

The self-service bar had plates, spoons, forks, and knives, as well as separate bags for packing bread. There was also a microwave and oven, which made it convenient to warm up the bread, haha.

When the pager buzzes, you can go pick up your order. The Americano was rich and tasty too.

The coffee was not overly heavy or intense, and it was good with bread, so personally I thought it was worth stopping by at least once for the coffee too. If you love bread, I think you would have fun looking through the variety and choosing. It seems like a space that would suit anyone who enjoys bakery cafés.

Another quietly cute thing was that they sold duck merchandise too, haha. I found it while looking around the café, and it was cuter than I expected, so I spent quite a while browsing. With these little things to see as well, it felt like a place where you could slowly look around and spend time, rather than just sit down for coffee and leave.

Above all, it was quite large, so even with a fair number of people around, it felt less cramped. Group use is possible too, so this could be useful for anyone looking for a nice place to gather with friends or family. The parking lot was spacious, making it a good option for visiting by car as well.
