Mangwon picnic rental shop and Han River tent zone rules: Picnic List

In short

Picnic List Mangwon is a picnic gear rental shop right at the entrance to Mangwon Han River Park in Mapo, Seoul. Renting a one-touch tent, mat, box table and wagon for two came to about 30,000 won for 5 hours, and the park's tent zone rules (March to November, three sides kept open) are worth checking before you go. For anyone who wants to arrive empty-handed and stay for the night view, the 10,000 won all-day pass at Picnic List Mangwon is the answer.

Picnic List Mangwon: right in front of the Mangwon Han River Park entrance

Picnic List Mangwon is a picnic gear rental shop at 1 Mangwon-ro 1-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, right at the entrance to Mangwon Han River Park near Mangwon Station Exit 2. It's open 11:00–22:00, and unmanned pickup is also available.

First scene of a Mangwon Han River Park picnic outing

The weather's been perfect for outdoor stuff lately, so I went for a Mangwon Han River picnic over the weekend.

I was dreading lugging a mat or tent myself — too heavy, too much to prepare — when I found Picnic List, which rents out every aesthetic little prop so you can show up empty-handed. Booked immediately and went! Location's amazing too, right at the entrance to Mangwon Han River Park — this is Picnic List's Mangwon branch.

Being right along the path into Mangwon Han River Park, the access was genuinely amazing. By subway, get off at Mangwon Station and walk toward the river park; by bus you can also get off near Mangwon Han River Park or Mangwon Market — super convenient by public transit either way. The biggest perk is not having to walk far while carrying gear!

What Picnic List Mangwon stocks: board games and three types of tables

Picnic List Mangwon has tents, mats, chairs, board games, blankets, fans, portable chargers, even camera tripods. Tables come in three types: wine table, wood table, box table.

Inside the shop filled with picnic props

Walking into the shop, it was packed with bright, pretty picnic props — my eyes just lit up.

Board games are ₩4,000 for two, plus blankets, fans, portable chargers, and camera tripods.

There's also a mirror, disposable plates and cups, and three table options: wine table, plain wood table, and box table.

Super comfy camping chairs, picnic chairs, and mats are all there too.

Tents are kept behind the mirror door, and the ones next to them are windbreaks, which are a bit different — if you want a more aesthetic picnic, the windbreak photographs a little prettier.

Self-service pickup and prices: 3 hours base, 10,000 won all-day pass

Picnic List Mangwon sometimes runs unmanned — book on Naver Reservation, show up at your slot, pack up the gear, and self-pay at the kiosk, done. Base rental is 3 hours, extra hour is ₩5,000, and the all-day pass is ₩10,000.

Unmanned self-checkout kiosk

So cool, and the price is so nice too. Base 3 hours, +1 hour free if you join the review event, ₩5,000 per extra hour, ₩10,000 all-day pass — and honestly the place is paradise so time flies, so the all-day pass is the move.

Rental time and extra fee information

Unmanned return is possible until 10pm, so you can relax all day and enjoy an aesthetic night-view picnic too. If any questions come up while using it, you can reach them easily via Talk-talk, KakaoTalk, phone, or Instagram DM — feedback is super fast.

There's a wagon too, so even for a short distance you can move things comfortably. Included with tent rental!

But if you pile on too much stuff, you might end up dropping things like Hansel and Gretel, haha, so it's good to keep an eye on each other in pairs. Actually found someone's air pillow rolling around that they'd dropped, so we picked it up and returned it together, lol.

Mangwon Han River Park tent zone rules to check before you go

Anyone planning to set up a rental tent at Mangwon Han River Park needs to carefully check the park rules in advance, or risk fines! Tents are allowed from March through November, and three or more sides must stay open.

  • Tent-allowed period: March through November
  • Setup hours (spring/fall): until 7pm in March–May / September–November
  • Setup hours (summer): until 8pm in June–August
  • Three or more sides must stay open ^^

Since it's a one-touch tent, you just unpack it and it sets itself up, done — my temporary rental space in Seoul.

The tent floor fabric is a bit thin, so the ₩4,000-ish mat is essential. Makes a huge difference in comfort.

This chair is genuinely comfortable too. Kind of want to buy one...

Is the rental gear clean? How Picnic List Mangwon keeps it dry and fresh

Picnic List Mangwon keeps its mats and props well-maintained — fresh and clean, with no stickiness. I'm personally kind of picky about hygiene with picnic rentals, and I was able to use everything without any discomfort.

Badminton and other rentable games

You can even rent badminton gear...

A fan is essential for summer picnics!! But fans can have charging issues, so I'd recommend renting a portable charger with it. The portable charger is a whopping 10,000mAh.

You can buy wet wipes for ₩500. The brand is called Habillange, cute name haha.

Why Mangwon Han River Park is quieter and cheaper than Yeouido

Unlike the crowded Yeouido, Mangwon Han River Park is quiet, and picnic gear rental prices seem much cheaper too.

Eating, lying down, a soft breeze through the mesh screen. Paradise... my temporary home in the middle of downtown Seoul, it's good.

Quiet view of the tent zone at Mangwon Han River Park

The props come in such cute, pretty color combinations that I immediately understood why this is a hot Mangwon date spot where anyone — friends, couples, family — can get great photos.

Cute, colorful picnic setup

The view lying inside the cozy tent. FYI the S-size mat is genuinely small, so if you're renting anyway, pay the extra ₩1,000 for the L.

Two people, 5 hours: what the Picnic List Mangwon bill came to

Even after renting everything under the sun for two people, it came to about ₩30,000 for 5 hours — ₩6,000 an hour, happy time.

Storage-friendly box table and Han River ramyeon

No matter how strong the sun gets, the tent's got you covered!! This box table has storage inside, so it came in handy the whole picnic. Han River ramyeon — can't skip that.

Packing up and returning the tent at 10 p.m.

When packing up, it's easiest to close all three sides again and fold everything up like this.

Closing and folding up the one-touch tent on three sides

Loads it all neatly into our wagon. The 5 hours really flew by — regret not getting the all-day pass, ugh.

And here it is — the culprits — the two Picnic List air pillows that were wandering around Mangwon Han River Park, ugh.

Two air pillows found and returned together

Even when returning after everything, being right at the river entrance meant not having to carry heavy gear far — a perfectly smooth experience to the very end. If you want to make special memories with people you love next weekend, or want a real Han River vibe while traveling light, I highly recommend visiting without hesitation. The rental lineup is solid and the staff is kind, so the whole experience felt like pure healing! Strongly recommend it as a must-do course for a Mangwon Han River Park picnic!
