Jeju bingsu café in Jocheon: gnawing the mango rib bones at Lala Cafe
In short
Lala Cafe is a fresh apple mango bingsu (shaved ice dessert) and bakery café on Namjo-ro in Jocheon-eup, Jeju. The bingsu for two costs 49,000 won and uses fresh Jeju apple mangoes from Rema Farm, the grower that also supplies The Shilla Hotel, and it comes with plastic gloves so you can gnaw the mango "rib bones" around the pit clean; a sweet potato ttungnangsie financier costs 4,000 won. Recommended if hotel mango bingsu prices feel steep but you still want real seasonal fresh mango.

This is my pick for the number one dessert I had in Jeju 🥭 here's my review of Lala Cafe in Jocheon! Honestly, Jeju apple mango bingsu prices have gotten so crazy lately that I seriously debated whether to even get one... (hotel mango bingsu is just out of the question price-wise...) But I still wanted proper, real seasonal fresh mango, so I did my research and went — and the mango quality was genuinely amazing!!

Where is Lala Cafe, and its parking and hours
Lala Cafe is located at 1843-1 Namjo-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, and is open Monday to Sunday, 09:00–20:00. Parking is available.
I drove there, and as soon as I pulled in the parking lot was huge, which made things so easy! Even if you're a nervous driver, you really don't need to worry about parking haha.
Inside Lala Cafe: high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows
The inside of Lala Cafe has high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, so it never feels stuffy! The overall interior is modern and clean, and the tables are spaced generously with good group seating too, so it seems great for families to visit haha. The window seats are perfect for zoning out too.

Rema Farm fresh apple mango, the same grower that supplies The Shilla Hotel
Lala Cafe reportedly only uses fresh Jeju apple mango from Rema Farm, the same supplier used by The Shilla Hotel (apparently it's only sold in season from April to November!). Being able to eat the exact same mango that goes into the hotel, at this price !! it's honestly amazing!!

Lala Cafe isn't only bingsu — there's a bakery counter too
I thought I was just coming for the famous mango bingsu, but the moment I walked in, the smell of fresh bread was unbelievable... turns out they have a genuinely huge bakery selection!!

There were all kinds of things — rolls, cakes, cold-pressed juices, and more haha.

Jeju fresh apple mango bingsu for two, 49,000 won
Jeju fresh apple mango bingsu (for 2): ₩49,000
The visuals on this mango bingsu are insane!!! The portion is also huge — the two of us barely finished it lol. True to its premium fresh mango, the aroma was rich and sweet from the very start, so my expectations were sky-high before I even took a bite.
First, try savoring just the mango pieces on top, slowly! The chewy flesh and fragrant juice burst in your mouth, and the sweetness is genuinely insane ㅠㅠ There's none of that gritty, tooth-aching texture of frozen mango, or the astringent taste of imported mango! 🥭 Unlike regular mango that goes through a harvest-and-import process, this is Jeju-grown fresh apple mango picked right at peak ripeness locally, so the juice and aroma are on a completely different level. I'd honestly never had mango like this before... it practically melted away the second it hit my mouth lol.
Next, scoop it up together with the snow-flake milk ice for a soft, nutty combination! The ice itself is basically soft frozen milk, and it paired with the mango better than I ever expected.

About halfway through the bingsu, there's mango puree served alongside — drizzle a little on and you get two totally different styles to enjoy.
Gloves on: gnawing the mango rib bones clean
When you order the bingsu at Lala Cafe, a separate plate comes out with plastic gloves and a piece of the mango core still attached to bits of flesh! Honestly, places using frozen or canned mango only ever serve neatly diced cubes — there's no way you'd get a seed section like this. It means the café is genuinely hand-processing whole fresh apple mangoes in-house!!
Put the gloves on and gnaw the leftover flesh clinging to the seed like you're eating ribs off the bone — and just like meat closest to the bone tastes best, the flesh around the seed was at peak sweetness, insanely delicious ㅠㅠ👍

Also ordered: sweet potato ttungnangsie, 4,000 won
Sweet potato candy financier ttungnangsie (₩4,000)
This is the ttungnangsie sweet potato candy financier I sneakily grabbed while eating the bingsu, and it's honestly amazing !!!! 🤤 A plump financier topped with sweet candied sweet potato — one bite and the outside is golden and crisp while the inside is chewy and moist... so sweet and nutty it disappeared in seconds. It was also the perfect thing to alternate bites with while working through the mango bingsu!

Who should visit Lala Cafe in Jocheon, Jeju

Top-tier fresh mango with overwhelming sweetness and a generous portion, plus a comfortable interior with floor-to-ceiling windows, a huge parking lot, and a varied bakery menu on top of it all..!
