Anseong café: spice-level pasta and 30% off brunch drinks, Chat Baker

A must-stop whenever we're in Anseong! I went back to Chat Baker, a large café near Anseong Farm Land. You can enjoy everything from brunch to bakery goods, and the space is so spacious that it's great to visit with kids — it's become the spot my family always heads to whenever we're in Anseong. So let me introduce Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café.

It's about 4 minutes by car from Anseong Farm Land, so it's a great spot to combine with a Farm Land visit. There's also dedicated parking, so parking is easy and stress-free.

Inside the two-floor café and its jazz nights

Once you step inside, it really is a huge café — the sheer size is one of the reasons we come back so often. The tables are spaced generously apart and each area has a slightly different mood, so it's a comfortable place to sit and relax.

It's made up of two floors, and the view of the first floor from the second is pretty striking. The high ceilings make it feel even more open and airy!

There's also a floor-to-ceiling window area, and on nice days you can enjoy the outdoor terrace too.

And Chat Baker is also a café where you can enjoy live jazz performances. This time there's a jazz show planned for September 26–27, so if you're planning a family outing to Anseong over Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), it could be nice to enjoy brunch and bakery goods at the café along with the jazz performance.

So is it just a big space? Not at all!! The bakery selection here is really varied too.

From ciabatta and plain white bread...

...to several kinds of salt bread...

Toast, pizza bread, croissants, mont blanc, pain au chocolat, kouign-amann and more — it's fun picking based on your mood.

Bread alone would be a bit of a shame, haha. There's a whole range of cakes too, plus cookies and baked snacks. There's genuinely so much variety in the bakery section that bread lovers will have a blast just browsing.

When does brunch start, and how does the 30% drink discount work?

Chat Baker isn't just bakery goods — you can enjoy brunch too. Brunch orders open from 11am, and the menu ranges from bingsu (shaved ice) to pasta, risotto, gnocchi, and appetizers.

There are a whopping 5 bingsu flavors! Melon, watermelon, red bean, fresh mango watermelon, and matcha choco are all available, and with 6 kinds of pasta too, this is a place better suited to a full meal than just grabbing bread.

We ordered the panne bacon pasta and ham cheese croissant again — they were a hit last time with the kids too! And this time we also picked the tomato seafood pasta and condensed milk cream salt bread, going full mom-and-dad style.

Panne bacon pasta

First up, the panne bacon pasta! This is the menu item we order without fail every time we visit with the kids.

It's a flavor the kids really love, and it suits adult tastes just as well. The cream sauce is delicious, so dipping bread straight into it makes it even better, and it's loaded with bacon and mushrooms, making it perfect to share with kids.

Even my picky-eater kids polish off the pasta here, which is one reason we keep coming back to Anseong.

Tomato seafood pacchetti pasta, with a spice level you choose

The tomato seafood pacchetti pasta we tried for the first time! What was especially nice was being able to choose the spice level. Mild for the kids, and spicy however mom and dad liked — that flexibility was great.

We ordered it spicy, and it wasn't overwhelmingly hot — just a gentle kick that made for pleasant eating. The seafood was fairly generous too, with that distinct seafood flavor coming through nicely — personally, out of everything we ate this time, it suited my taste even better than the panne bacon pasta! This place truly earns its reputation for brunch, not just bread ❤️

Ham cheese croissant and condensed milk cream salt bread

The ham cheese croissant is nicely savory and pairs well with coffee, and needless to say, kids love it, haha. With both ham and cheese packed in, it's a combo kids can't resist.

My husband picked the condensed milk cream salt bread — at first I thought, condensed milk cream on salt bread? But once I tried it, it was completely sweet-and-salty! The sweetness of the condensed milk paired well with the saltiness of the bread, and it was tastier than I expected.

Our family has always eaten well here on visits with the kids, so we keep returning whenever we're in Anseong ❤️ We left satisfied again this time, so we'll likely stop by again on our next trip to Anseong.
