When the weather's nice on the weekend, you're always debating where to take your pup for a drive, haha.
This time I took my dog out to the wide-open outskirts for a mood reset! Here's my honest review of On the Rail, a large outdoor café in Munsan, Paju that's dog-friendly — a real proper healing spot, haha.
Where is On the Rail in Paju, and what about the train tracks?
On the Rail's address is 25 Imjingang-ro, Munsan-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Once you spot the train tracks, you've arrived!
Honestly, last time I went to a different dog-friendly café, the outdoor yard was too small and the ground was so messy my dog couldn't even walk properly — total fail, ugh. But this time was a complete success!
The coolest part was the actual train tracks you spot while wandering around the café! If you time it right, you can watch a real train go chugging by — so atmospheric, haha. Snap a photo when the train passes and you get a seriously moody shot!
The exterior alone is huge and spacious! It's a really big large-format café.
What is the indoor space at On the Rail like?
The indoor space at On the Rail has high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, so there's zero feeling of stuffiness. Here's the interior when we went in to order bread and coffee, haha.
The seats are spaced generously too, so it's a great vibe for relaxing comfortably, haha.
Bakery selection at On the Rail
The display case is stacked full of breads that make any bread-lover's eyes light up! The smell of freshly baked, savory bread wafts through the store, making it a happy struggle to decide what to pick, haha.
There's a bear photo zone here too, haha. Just remember the indoor space is off-limits for dogs — they can only use the outdoor seating, haha. But the outdoor seating is so well set up that it's actually much nicer to sit outside in the breeze on a nice day!

The signature train-track photo zone and a retro car photo zone are prettily set up here and there, haha. Photos turn out great no matter where you shoot — the best spot for a life shot!
Americano, fig croissant and warmed sausage bread
At On the Rail we ordered a cool, clean Americano, a sweet fig croissant, and a bouncy sausage bread!
The fig croissant was crispy outside, soft inside, with a sweet bite — a real delicacy — and the sausage bread was perfectly salty too, haha.
There's 2nd-floor terrace seating up higher, and since the view looked so good from up there, we went up and grabbed a spot!
We got a bit hungry so we also ordered sausage bread, and since there's an oven in-store, we had it warmed up — even tastier, haha.

Finally, here's today's main character — our adorable pup!
She was sniffing around, so excited to check out the outside world — so cute, haha.
We left the dog settled at the outdoor table for a bit while we recharged our sugar levels with delicious bread and cool coffee!
Once our stomachs were reasonably full, we moved down to the first floor and, leash in hand, took our dog for a fun walk around the wide outdoor yard, haha.
Why On the Rail is a good café to visit with a dog
On the Rail is a café surrounded by nature, so it's full of the natural smell of grass and trees — so satisfying!
My dog had her tail sticking straight up, running excitedly around the grass, haha.
After only ever walking on stuffy asphalt, feeling nature made her so happy — her smiling expression is still vivid in my memory!
I lifted my dog gently onto the pretty car photo zone in the outdoor yard and took a photo! She looked right at the camera, so we got a proper adorable life shot, haha.
Would I go back to On the Rail? 200% yes
On the Rail, my pick for a large outdoor café in Munsan, Paju — after actually going, I get exactly why everyone recommends it as a great spot to bring your dog! My dog got to sniff grass to her heart's content with no stuffiness, and I got to heal with delicious desserts too, haha.
