Pyeongtaek brunch café with Häagen-Dazs croffle and decaf latte: Sisup

A great-vibe café I found near Pyeongtaek, Sisup 🌿 You know those days when the weather's nice and you want to drive somewhere, but not too far? This time I headed out near Pyeongtaek for some fresh air and a café visit. It's a place called Sisup.

From the moment I arrived, the white building with the lush green lawn stretched out in front really caught my eye. There's a wide garden set up right in front of the café, so it felt more like visiting a small garden than a typical café. 🌿 There were outdoor seats with parasols, plus a cabin-like structure, so there were plenty of seating options.

Where is Sisup, and what are the hours and parking like?

Sisup is located at 680 Hyeondeok-ro, 1st floor, Hyeondeok-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si. Hours are Sat–Sun 10:30–19:00, with last order at 18:30.

The parking lot is pretty spacious, so it was easy to visit by car.

Sisup's outdoor garden, man-made stream and cabin seats

Sisup's outdoor area has parasol seating, a cabin-like seating spot, and even an artificial stream. Looking at the café from outside, it has floor-to-ceiling windows so you can see the whole interior atmosphere at a glance — and that view was pretty pretty too.

As I wandered around the outdoor space, I found an artificial stream too. Though when I visited, there wasn't much water in it.

The artificial stream seems meant for dipping your feet in, so if you're visiting with kids, it's probably a good idea to be careful.

With parasol seats and cabin-style seats in the outdoor area, it would be perfect to sit outside and drink coffee on a nice-weather day.

There's a notice that pets aren't allowed indoors, so if you're visiting with your dog, keep that in mind. Instead, there's a variety of outdoor seating, so spending time outdoors on a nice day would be great too. ☀️

How big is the indoor space at Sisup?

The inside of Sisup was much bigger than I expected, with plenty of seats. Walking in, the wood-toned desks and chairs blended with the white walls for an overall clean yet warm vibe.

Most of all, there were quite a lot of seats, so it didn't feel too crowded even with people around.

And on one side, there was a room-like independent space that looked like it could seat about 10 people! That seemed good for family visits or when a bigger group comes to the café together.

Ordering at the Sisup kiosk 😋

Sisup has a wide range of menu items from brunch to paninis, desserts, and coffee. Highlights include the Sisup brunch, bulgogi panini, basil tomato double cheese panini, and grilled cheese honey rice cake, along with drinks like almond cream latte or blueberry yogurt smoothie. We went back and forth but ended up ordering mostly desserts.

Handmade vanilla bean latte, 7,500 won with a decaf option ☕

Sisup's handmade vanilla bean latte is 7,500 won, and you can switch to decaf for an extra 1,000 won. I'm honestly kind of picky about vanilla lattes. The flavor really varies a surprising amount from café to café.

This handmade vanilla bean latte had a more refined sweetness rather than the cheap-syrup taste you often get. It wasn't artificially sweet — more of a smooth sweetness that went well with dessert. And the friend I went with, who can't handle much caffeine, was really happy about being able to switch to decaf.

It was nice that even the decaf version had options.

☕ Americano, 5,800 won

Sisup's americano is 5,800 won, and it leans toward barely any acidity. I tend to order an americano alongside sweet desserts, and it went well with both the croffle and the scone.

Best of all, this one can also be switched to decaf, which I loved. It seems like a solid option for people who want dessert but don't want the caffeine.

Häagen-Dazs ice cream croffle + Sinobe Brown, 14,800 won 🧇

Sisup's Häagen-Dazs ice cream croffle with Sinobe Brown set is 14,800 won. The menu I was most excited for in this order! Häagen-Dazs ice cream + crispy croffle + Sinobe Brown — how could that combo not be delicious? 😂

The croffle itself was crispy on the outside and soft inside, and piling a generous amount of Häagen-Dazs ice cream on top made it genuinely delicious.

Eating it together with the Sinobe Brown made the sweetness even richer.

Bananas came alongside too, and mixing in bites of banana here and there gave it a different flavor. 🍌 Personally, piling on the ice cream, Sinobe Brown, and banana all at once was more delicious than eating the croffle plain.

Chocolate chip scone, 4,800 won and a generous size 🍪

Another thing that was more satisfying than I expected: the chocolate chip scone! It's 4,800 won, but the size is pretty generous.

From first glance I thought, 'You could probably just order this alone.' It was that big. Chocolate chips were studded throughout, and the nutty, sweet flavor paired well with coffee.

It came with whipped cream too — taking a bite of scone and then adding a bit of cream made it even softer and more delicious. 😋 If you personally like scones, this one's worth trying.

Boxing up leftover desserts at Sisup's self-service wrapping station

Sisup has a self-service wrapping station where you can pack up leftover bread or desserts yourself. Personally, this was one of my favorite things about the place. Sometimes you end up with a bit of bread or dessert left over at a café, and here they've set things up so you can wrap it up and take it yourself.

We also had a bit of drink and bread left, so we took the drink to go and wrapped the bread at the self-service station. 👍 The cup holder used for takeout was a bit unusual too, so I snapped a photo of it. 📸

What I liked most about Sisup this time was, again, the outdoor space. I visited on a nice-weather day and sat outside, and drinking coffee while looking at the green lawn made me feel oddly at ease. I saw a lot of families visiting, along with people out with their kids. Outside, they were also selling cute duck-shaped bubble toys for 2,000 won!

They seemed fun for kids to play with, so if you're visiting as a family, buying one could be a fun little extra. 🐥🫧 Eating bread and drinking coffee while relaxing, time passed pretty quickly. I thought it was a great spot for when you want to drive a bit outside downtown Pyeongtaek and have a coffee in a spacious setting.

Is Sisup worth the drive? Final verdict 🌿

Overall, this was a great café to spend relaxed time at near Pyeongtaek. The white building and green garden are pretty, and the interior is spacious enough to be good for visiting with family or friends. Especially on nice-weather days, I'd recommend the outdoor seating.

It was nice that the coffee could be switched to decaf, and the handmade vanilla bean latte was personally quite satisfying. Among the desserts, the croffle topped with Häagen-Dazs ice cream and the big chocolate chip scone stood out most. And best of all, there was a self-service wrapping station where you could pack up leftover desserts yourself, so it was convenient all the way to the end.

On nice-weather days like these, if you're looking for a café near Pyeongtaek for a short drive, Sisup is a great spot to grab a coffee, wander the garden, and relax. 🌿☕
