In short

Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch is a European-style takeout bakery on the 1st floor of Farm Star Tower on Chorongkkot-ro in Unjeong, Paju, Gyeonggi. Two bread-loving sisters visited together and took home a carrot rapée chicken sandwich, milk cream salt bread, kabocha cream cheese ciabatta and hazelnut chocolate cornet pie, all baked and sold the same day, with coffee made from Fritz beans. For European-style bread and coffee in one stop in Unjeong, Boulangerie Tan is worth the trip.

My sister lives in Unjeong, Paju, so us two bread-loving sisters popped over together.

Wood-tone exterior of Boulangerie Tan bakery in Unjeong, Paju

This is my review of 'Boulangerie Tan,' a bakery in Unjeong, Paju, full of European charm. The warm wood-tone exterior with its exotic feel really catches your eye.

Baked and sold the same day: ingredients and Fritz coffee

Boulangerie Tan follows a same-day-baked, same-day-sold principle. They use natural fermented levain, organic French flour, natural butter, and dairy fresh cream.

Using good ingredients and baking fresh each day, it looked like a healthy European-style bakery that would also be great for eating with kids.

Looking at the drink menu, I noticed the coffee uses beans from the famous 'FRITZ'!

  • Americano: ₩3,800
  • Café Latte: ₩4,300
  • Vanilla Latte: ₩4,800
  • Also has drinks like Jeju matcha latte, green tangerine ade, blueberry ade
  • Perk: ₩500 off if you bring your own tumbler!

Boulangerie Tan is mainly a takeout bakery. Lots of bread, lots of takeout customers, and delivery orders kept coming in too. Everything about the place was busy, haha.

Carrot rapée chicken sandwich

The carrot rapée chicken sandwich is nicely seasoned and savory, with the cheese giving it great flavor. It's a baguette sandwich, but it wasn't hard or chewy at all.

Between the nutty baguette, there's a generous, ungenerous-free amount of fresh, crunchy carrot rapée (French-style shredded carrot salad). The combo of cheese and fresh vegetables was clean and light — perfect for brunch.

Kabocha cream cheese ciabatta

The kabocha (sweet pumpkin) cream cheese ciabatta uses in-season kabocha, so the sweetness is maximized, and it pairs beautifully with the cream cheese.

Inside the chewy, mild dough is a generous filling of sweet, soft kabocha and cheese — the more you chew, the more nutty flavor comes through.

Milk cream salt bread filled with fresh cream

Milk cream salt bread

The milk fresh cream salt bread is soft and nutty — seriously perfect with an americano. Milk cream salt bread can be heavy since the cream can taste greasy, but they add a bit of lemon juice for freshness, so it doesn't feel greasy at all.

The salt bread is stuffed full of soft, rich dairy fresh cream — you can already tell how soft it must be, right?

Hazelnut chocolate cornet pie filled with chocolate cream

Hazelnut chocolate cornet pie

Crispy on the outside, filled with rich chocolate cream inside — this cornet pie is deliciously sweet, very sweet! Perfect as a sugar-rush dessert.
