I'm not really into desserts myself, but my companion loves them, so we were looking for a place to cover both dessert and snacks. Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger, famous in Yeosu for its baguette burgers, turned out to be the spot where we could do both at once, so off we went.

This was my first time trying mugwort ice cream, and honestly, it was perfect for someone like me who doesn't love overly sweet things. Instead of hitting you with sharp sweetness, it had mugwort's own fragrant, slightly bitter flavor coming through gently.

The mugwort aroma wasn't overpowering at all — it spread subtly through the sweet ice cream, making it a flavor even people who don't like sweets could enjoy.

Alongside the usual strawberry milk and cookies-and-cream flavors, Jwasuyeong's macarons include special ones like real mugwort, mugwort latte, and mugwort chocolate chip.

The macarons were packed full of filling and so colorful — really pretty to look at.

The mugwort chocolate chip had a subtle herbal note paired with chocolate sweetness — an unusual combo — while the cookies-and-cream was sweet, nutty, and pretty much universally likable.

Mugwort latte had that earthy mugwort taste softened by a latte-like creaminess, making it mellower and creamier overall, while real mugwort let the herb's characteristic aroma and nutty depth come through more clearly. Strawberry milk was exactly as the name suggests — smooth, sweet, familiar and delicious.

The baguette burger: cheongyang chili is the kick

The one I was most looking forward to was the baguette burger itself. It's super famous in Yeosu but I'd never actually tried it, so I made sure to order it this time. I worried the baguette would be hard, but it wasn't tough or rough at all — pleasantly chewy yet soft, easy to eat.

The baguette was packed generously with meat and vegetables, so every bite delivered a hearty mix of flavors. The meat portion was great, but what I loved even more was the vegetables, sauce, and cheongyang chili pepper tucked inside. That combination of meat, vegetables, and sauce could easily turn heavy, but the spiciness of the cheongyang chili was the burger's kick, keeping it from getting cloying all the way to the last bite.

The baguette burger started out savory and filling with meat and vegetables, then the cheongyang chili's heat crept up gently from behind, cutting the richness and sharpening the appetite.
