In short

Uisagye is a chimney cake café beside Uicheon Stream in Dobong, Seoul. With two high chairs, sunny spaces across four levels, and freshly baked chimney cakes in 4–5 minutes, Uisagye was especially lovely after a streamside walk. Verdict: order the ice cream chimney cake.

When you're raising a baby, you find yourself looking for places with high chairs first wherever you go. There’s a café I’d visited often even while I was pregnant, and after having my baby, I realized it’s also a great Dobong dessert café to visit with one :) It’s Uisagye, famous for chimney cakes. With pretty interiors, delicious coffee and drinks, and perfect desserts too, it really has it all.

We stayed for about two hours between arriving and leaving, and isn’t it amazing how different the sky looks depending on where the sun is? It was such a beautiful space with plenty of sunlight.

Long hours, perfect after a walk along Uicheon Stream

Uisagye, famous for its chimney cakes, is open every day from Monday through Sunday, from 10 AM to 9 PM—a café with seriously long hours. Being able to stop by anytime while walking along Uicheon Stream is a huge plus. It isn’t actually in a busy commercial area, but anyone walking along the stream has probably spotted it at least once. The building is big and really stands out!

Look at that! They have two high chairs ready. Since I have a baby, whether a restaurant or café has a high chair makes such a big difference when deciding where to go ㅠㅠ But this place has them, haha. There isn’t a diaper-changing table or anything like that, so changing a diaper may be a little inconvenient, but the restrooms are individual ones!

The café runs from basement level 1 through the third floor. The whole building is a café. Each floor has a different feel, which makes exploring it fun. It’s also nice to spend time with babies in the high chairs here, because looking out at nature feels so relaxing.

Warm chimney cakes made to order

You can see the chimney cakes being made inside—they’re constantly making them. Since they make each chimney cake themselves before serving it, it’s extra warm and delicious.

The window seats with their lovely atmosphere are the popular ones! People always gather there, haha. Stop in for a cup of coffee while walking along Uicheon Stream and you’ll get a proper little healing break~~

Pretty much all the drinks here are good. The coffee is tasty, and things like the chocolate latte are good good too. The chimney cakes are baked after you order, so they take about 4–5 minutes. Injeolmi (roasted soybean powder) has just been added! Having tried it myself, I highly recommend it!! The gimbap (seaweed rice roll) with arugula was my acquaintances’ top pick, but I don’t like arugula, so I preferred the other sweet breads~

The chimney cakes being made... I thought it was fascinating, so I took a photo haha.

This is the first through second floors. So much Instagrammable mood, right? There are big trees right in front and Uicheon Stream too, so it feels very close to nature.

The ice cream chimney cake combination is the best

I ordered a decaf iced Americano, chocolate latte, and ice cream chimney cake. Honestly, I was so hungry that I got greedy and ordered them all, then left most of my coffee... But the ice cream and chimney cake combination was absolutely the best.

A chimney cake is hollow like this, with a slightly crisp yet chewy texture! It has such a satisfyingly springy chew, so it’s delicious. I liked it even more with the injeolmi powder coating.

The chocolate latte was sweet and tasty, and the decaf iced Americano was decent! But that chimney cake and ice cream were really the kicker... This place is seriously great for ice cream, haha. I’m ordering ice cream again next time I go~

Cut it with scissors and dip it in condensed milk—it’s heaven. It’s wonderfully chewy and springy. The condensed milk is sweet, so it goes perfectly with the chimney cake.

I ate my ice cream and did some studying at a relaxed pace that day. I guess I’m destined to live studying—I just can’t sit still... (probably, haha). Always taking on something, never staying still... Maybe that’s why I can’t stick with one thing for a long time either, hahaha. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

As I was leaving, I saw that they also have patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red beans)! It’s available for takeout too, so take a walk along Uicheon Stream and pick up some delicious patbingsu from Uisagye~~
