There are so many cafés around Hongdae these days, from places with lovely atmospheres to ones with really pretty desserts, you know? This time, I was craving a peach dessert, so I visited Think Fruit, a dessert café in Hongdae. I was especially curious because it serves soufflé pancakes with fruit, and I thought I’d introduce it since the café was neat and the desserts looked so pretty. After trying it myself, I was more satisfied than expected: I could have soft soufflé with ice cream and fruit all together.

What is Think Fruit’s interior like?

Think Fruit looked neat from the outside, too. Its brick-like exterior has a think fruit sign, so it was easy to spot even from a distance. There were also menu posters by the entrance featuring peaches and figs.

White-toned interior of Think Fruit

Inside, the overall atmosphere was clean and white-toned. The large windows gave a wide-open view of the outdoors from inside the café. The tables were spaced fairly generously too, so it looked like a nice place to chat over dessert.

By the windows were round tables and clear chairs, and the sunlight made the atmosphere even prettier. It seemed like a great spot for photos, so I think it would suit anyone looking for one of the more atmospheric cafés in Hongdae.

The window seats on the other side looked directly onto the alley. With the clear chairs and small lamps, the whole space felt stylish! It also looked like a nice place for a short break from busy Hongdae.

What is on the menu at Think Fruit?

Soufflé and parfait menu

Looking at the menu, there were SOUFFLE & PARFAIT, COFFEE, and SEASON & FRUIT sections. The soufflé pancake choices included peach soufflé and fig soufflé, while the parfaits came in peach and fig versions, so you could choose based on your preferred fruit. Along with Americano and other coffee drinks, there was also a wide range of fruit-based beverages.

Iced Americano and lemonade

We ordered the peach soufflé, an iced Americano, and a lemonade. The drinks arrived first while we waited: the lemonade looked refreshing just from its bright color, and the Americano had a simple, clean look that seemed perfect with dessert.

How did I eat the peach soufflé?

After a short wait, the peach soufflé finally arrived. The plate was generously filled with soufflé pancakes and peaches, topped with cream and ice cream. It looked so appetizing that I ended up taking photo after photo.

Up close, the soufflé looked wonderfully fluffy. A light dusting of powdered sugar gave it a mild yet sweet feel, and there were big pieces of peach arranged around it.

The peaches were topped with cream, which paired nicely with the fruit. The soufflé itself was so soft that the fork sank right in with only a gentle press.

Cross-section of peach and soft soufflé

When I cut into a peach, I found Greek yogurt inside. I thought it would be just peach, so finding Greek yogurt in the middle made it feel a little different.

When I cut the soufflé, the inside was really fluffy. Its soft texture made it easy to eat without feeling heavy, and the fresh peach flavor kept it from being richer than expected.

And of course, I tried it with the ice cream too. They use Häagen-Dazs ice cream, so I liked its smooth, rich flavor. Adding it to the fluffy soufflé made the dessert feel even more indulgent.

I scooped up peach, soufflé, and cream together, and the combination worked well because it was sweet but still had the fruit’s freshness. It paired especially well with the iced Americano, which neatly balanced the sweetness. Finally, I tried ice cream, soufflé, and peach all at once. The fluffy soufflé, smooth Häagen-Dazs ice cream, sweet peach, and Greek yogurt gave me several textures in one bite.
