A Chang-dong café found along Uicheon

The weather was so lovely today. On days like this, I just want to take a walk and find a pretty café. I coaxed my son away from the book he was reading at home, haha, and we headed out.

Before leaving, I searched around and found one café near Uicheon in Chang-dong that people said was especially pretty. It was just a seven-minute drive from home, so off we went. The café website says there is no parking, and that you should park at a nearby public parking lot. It is underground, for your reference.

After parking, we began walking along Uicheon. Chatting about this and that with my son as we walked, time flew by. The weather was lovely and the breeze was cool, so the walk itself felt healing.

About seven minutes in, a pretty café with ribbons appeared beside Uicheon. There was chimney bread hanging by the building too, haha. Its exterior really stood out among the cafés in this Chang-dong neighborhood.

The bold red pillar caught my eye right from the entrance.

An interior where sunlight meets red

The first thing I saw was the red staircase leading to the second floor! Red must be the main theme here. We placed our order and waited.

The first-floor room had large windows, so the sunlight streamed in beautifully. The silver blinds went so well with the café's modern mood. With all that light, photos came out especially well—I think I kept pressing the shutter.

Even the restroom is pretty. It is the kind of place that makes you want to wash your hands.

Why couldn't we have the chimney bread?

Uisagye's signature menu item is chimney bread. But then...

!!!!!!!!! The chimney bread was sold outㅠㅠ Sold out on our first visit... What is it about this chimney bread that makes it so popular? I promised myself I would come back againㅠ

There are all kinds of cookies and cakes, plus drinks for children. Can you see that little bear cake? So adorable, right?

The second-floor room and Uicheon terrace

Shall we go up to the second floor? It looks like there is even a rooftop.

We slowly headed up the incredibly pretty staircase.

The second floor was also bright and beautiful, filled with sunlight. It was perfect for today's weather.

The second-floor room was quiet, with an atmosphere that seemed great for studying. Next to it was a door leading out to the outdoor terrace. A red table visible through the glass door, haha.

With weather like this, it would be lovely to drink coffee while looking out at Uicheon. The breeze was gently blowing too. My son was getting a proper breath of fresh air~ This view alone made me think I absolutely need to sit on the terrace next time. It was a little hot today, so another time, haha.

Sadly, the rooftop is still coming soon... haha. I am curious what they are making up there.

Chrysanthemum petal tea and sweet desserts

We ordered chrysanthemum petal tea (₩5,000), a strawberry latte (₩5,800), and orange pound cake (₩4,500). The chrysanthemum flowers were so pretty. I have no idea how many photos I took, haha.

Uisagye had pretty little objects everywhere, so I kept looking around. The decorations differed a little at each seat, making it feel as though there was something to see wherever you sat.

Pet-friendly visits and why I want to return

I have occasionally come to walk along Uicheon, but today was the first time I learned Uisagye was here. If I had known sooner, I could have stopped by now and then and tried the chimney bread, haha.

Now that I know about it, I should visit again with my family while walking along Uicheon on a beautiful day like today. It would be nice with family or friends, but I also thought it would be a great place to spend some quiet time alone. Just looking at Uicheon through the window or from the outdoor terrace felt healing. Next time, I should make some time just for myself at Uisagye, haha.

Things to know before visiting

Since there is no parking, it is best to use a nearby public underground parking lot. You can bring a pet if it is a small dog under 10 kg. The signature chimney bread is popular and may sell out, so I recommend calling before you visit. If you are looking for a Chang-dong café that is nice for a walk along Uicheon, Uisagye may be worth a stop.
