Dongpo pork char siu ramen at Menya Seoul Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch

I was trying to decide what to eat at Lotte Department Store Incheon, and this time I was craving ramen, so I went to Menya Seoul Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch!

Entrance to Menya Seoul in the B1 food court of Lotte Department Store Incheon

It's on the basement 1st floor food court, so it's convenient to grab a meal while shopping, and being inside the department store means you don't have to worry about the weather! Looking at the menu photos, the thick dongpo pork piled on top of the ramen really caught my eye~!

A menu literally named dongpo pork char siu ramen is aimed squarely at meat lovers hahaha. Impossible to resist! Menya Seoul itself is a brand built around the concept of 'ramen where char siu shines,' focusing on the flavor and texture of the char siu.

Where is Menya Seoul in Lotte Department Store Incheon, and what are its hours?

The address is B1, Lotte Department Store Incheon, 35 Yeonnam-ro, Michuhol-gu, Incheon. It's open daily from 10:30 to 20:00.

Being inside the department store makes it easy to park and eat. There are high chairs and a waiting area, and it's wheelchair accessible, so it seemed fine for family visits too. The space feels less like a fully independent restaurant and more like the clean, open atmosphere typical of a department store food court~!

The layout doesn't feel awkward for eating ramen alone, so it seemed like a good option for people looking for solo dining near Incheon Terminal!

Menya Seoul menu and prices: dongpo pork, jambon and mazesoba

Looking at the Menya Seoul menu board, there were more options than I expected! Basic dongpo pork char siu ramen ₩12,900, spicy dongpo pork char siu ramen ₩12,900, jambon char siu ramen ₩10,900, whole pork belly mazesoba ₩11,900, and more.

That day I ordered the dongpo pork char siu ramen set and the spicy dongpo pork char siu ramen. The set lets you pick one side dish and one drink to go with the ramen. I chose Sprite for the drink and a small sweet soy chicken rice bowl for the side!

Looking at the menu board in the photo, the dongpo pork char siu ramen is ₩12,900 as a single dish and ₩17,900 as a set — ordering the set saves ₩3,900 compared to buying items separately!! If you find just the ramen a bit lacking and want a side too, the set definitely seemed worth it!

How thick is the dongpo pork in Menya Seoul's char siu ramen?

First, the basic dongpo pork char siu ramen. It looked fairly large in the menu photo, but seeing it in person, it definitely had presence.

Basic dongpo pork char siu ramen topped with thick pork

The dongpo pork wasn't the thin char siu style — it had real thickness and was cooked to be tender, so it felt moist even just picking it up with chopsticks. Eating it, it wasn't tough at all, chewed softly, and the sweet-salty soy-based flavor had soaked all the way through. Tasting it, I understood why they lead with the dongpo pork~

And then the broth! With ramen, the meat matters, but if the broth isn't good, it's hard to finish the bowl.

Menya Seoul's basic broth is milky and rich, but it didn't feel overly salty or aggressive. You could taste plenty of meat flavor, and the broth clung well to the noodles, so I kept reaching for more. There's also a soft-boiled egg, plus bean sprouts, green onion, and seaweed mixed in, so there was fun in the changing textures along the way. Compared to typical Japanese-style ramen, the topping lineup felt refreshingly unusual.

How spicy is the spicy dongpo pork char siu ramen? About Shin Ramyun level

Personally, I also really liked the spicy dongpo pork char siu ramen. Just looking at the broth color, it seems quite spicy, but eating it, it wasn't a 'whoa this is hot' level of spice.

The spice level felt about like Shin Ramyun! Just right~ For me, the heat mattered less than how it cleanly cut through the heavy, oily character typical of ramen. So if you usually eat rich tonkotsu-style ramen and start feeling a bit greasy halfway through, you might end up preferring the spicy version over the basic one.

There's seaweed in this one too, and at first I thought, 'seaweed in ramen?' But seaweed soaked in the broth actually works surprisingly well. Bean sprouts and green onion add texture within the rich broth too.

If the basic version is rich and smooth, the spicy version keeps that richness while giving the finish a bit more of a sharp kick. If I had to pick just one to eat again, I'd probably go back and forth depending on my mood that day.

The set side at Menya Seoul: sweet soy chicken rice bowl

The sweet soy chicken rice bowl I chose as the set side was also better than expected!

It's a small size, but paired with the ramen it made for just the right portion. The chicken is topped with a sweet-savory soy sauce and bonito flakes. Alternating a bite of ramen with a bite of chicken rice gave a completely different flavor each time, which was nice for switching things up. The sweet soy sauce also seemed like it would be fairly kid-friendly!

That said, the ramen portion itself isn't small, so eating a whole set solo makes for a pretty filling meal.

Worth it if you're craving ramen at Lotte Department Store Incheon?

Overall, what I liked most was definitely the dongpo pork! It was thick but not tough, tender, and had great balance with the rich broth. The basic dongpo pork char siu ramen is great for rich, savory flavor, and if you're worried about ramen feeling too greasy, I'd recommend the spicy dongpo pork char siu ramen~!

And if you want a side too, going for the set with the included drink was a better deal than adding items one by one. Personally, I walked in without high expectations since it's ramen at a department store food court, but I ended up more satisfied than I thought I'd be. The dongpo pork's tenderness was great, the broth was rich, and the spicy version wasn't uncomfortably hot, so I'd want to come back next time I'm at Lotte Department Store Incheon.

Next time I'm planning to try the whole pork belly mazesoba that kept catching my eye in the photos hahaha.
