Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread Main Store is a bakery café on Haksapyeong-gil in Sokcho, Gangwon, open daily 09:00–18:00. Seeing it again, the exterior is still so pretty><

What is the inside of the Sokcho bakery café like?

Inside, Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread Main Store has a just-right cozy café atmosphere. Let me show you around~~

Actually this is the main store — there's also Branch 1 and Branch 2 (inside and outside Sokcho Fish Market)! So some of you have probably spotted Bultan Gamja Bread while passing by. The main store even has music playing. On a rainy day, watching the rain through the window with a cup of coffee would be perfect🎵🎶 Of course it's great to visit even without rain.

At Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread Main Store you can order various coffees like a real café — espresso, Americano, café latte, vanilla latte... And for those who don't drink coffee, there's Earl Grey, chamomile, iced tea. Lately I'm obsessed with chamomile (nobody asked). All the basic coffees are covered!! Quietly pulling out my approval stamp.

There's also juice for babies to drink.

What does the squid-ink potato bread taste like?

Now let's get into the main event — Bultan Gamja Bread!!! They say Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread only sells what's made fresh every morning! Just imagine how fresh it is👏

Today I'm introducing the potato bread and squid jjondeugi (chewy snack). The bag in the photo has 12 pieces!! Besides squid flavor, there's also chicken flavor and snow crab flavor!! If you're curious what they taste like, check my old blog post haha

One box has 4 pieces. Perfect as a gift! The price isn't a burden either, so it's good for both the giver and the receiver. But I ate them all myself. All alone, even🤤

As for what Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread actually tastes like — it's not an artificial potato flavor. It's real baked potato with cream cheese and butter added, giving it really great flavor! Apparently baked potato has even more concentrated sweetness than steamed potato, which is why they bake it themselves🫢 You can tell they're seriously dedicated to potato bread. And the reason the outside is black is that the dough is mixed with squid ink and coated with domestic grain powders like black sesame, black beans, and black rice!!! At this rate it's basically health food, shouldn't put on weight haha If it's delicious, it's 0 calories ~~

And the squid-flavored jjondeugi! Only a thousand won each💵 It's literally squid-flavored chewy candy, and once you eat one you absolutely cannot stop at one. Honestly I ate a few while driving and brought home the last few to ration out. Perfect for when your mouth's bored. Highly recommend!!
