In short
Sokcho Daeilho Bangeo is a sashimi and sushi takeout shop at stall 6 in the chicken alley of Sokcho Tourist Fish Market in Sokcho, Gangwon. Sokcho sweet shrimp sashimi (30,000 won) and flounder-and-aged-kimchi salt gimbap (seaweed rice roll, 20,000 won) went back to the room to eat: the peeled shrimp were springy and turned sweet as you chewed, and the tangy aged kimchi in the gimbap woke up the appetite. 💡 What I picked was...!!🍣 Sokcho sweet shrimp sashimi ₩30,000 and flounder–old kimchi salt gimbap ₩20,000. I packed these two and ate them back at the accommodation.

What is the 30,000-won Sokcho sweet shrimp sashimi like?
🦐 Sokcho Daeilho Bangeo's Sokcho sweet shrimp sashimi is ₩30,000, and it's already peeled and prepped, so it was easy to eat even after taking it to go. Sweet shrimp sashimi from Sokcho, eaten in Sokcho — I was so looking forward to it 🦐
The moment you take a bite, what you notice is that plump-yet-melting, soft texture!🤤 The more you chew, the more the shrimp's subtle sweetness and nuttiness come through — genuinely delicious 👏🏻 It's clean with no fishiness, so it's great plain, and dipping it lightly in soy sauce brought out the shrimp's sweet flavor even more. If you like shrimp, this is a menu worth trying in Sokcho 💗

Flounder and aged-kimchi salt gimbap, 20,000 won: what is in it?
🍣 The flounder–old kimchi salt gimbap (김밥, seaweed rice roll) is ₩20,000. Between the savory seaweed and rice sits thick-cut flounder sashimi and old kimchi (묵은지, aged fermented kimchi), and eating them together in one bite was a really great combination. This was the one whose name alone made me curious — flounder–old kimchi salt gimbap!
The clean, chewy texture of the flounder paired with the tangy, crunchy flavor of the old kimchi really woke up the appetite 😋👍🏻✨ On top of that, the salty, nutty flavor of the salted seaweed came together far better than I expected.

Eating the sweet shrimp sashimi and salt gimbap together
Sokcho Daeilho Bangeo's sweet shrimp sashimi and flounder–old kimchi salt gimbap were good eaten separately or together. There's a different kind of appeal from just eating plain sashimi, so I'd recommend the combo of eating sweet shrimp sashimi and pairing in a piece of the flounder–old kimchi salt gimbap! 🍣🤍
Since I packed it to eat at the accommodation, it worked well eating the sashimi and gimbap separately or together — it made for the perfect Sokcho trip dinner 🥰
