Second-visit sushi lunch in Cheonan Buldang-dong: Ganghan Sushi 12P

Today I went back to Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch, a great spot for lunch in Cheonan's Buldang-dong. I'd been here before, and since the food was clean and the sushi set was such good value for the price, I decided to visit again. Let's get into the review!

Where Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is, plus hours and parking

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is at 67-12 Buldang21-ro, Unit 111, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. It's open daily 11:00–22:00, with last order at 21:30. Parking in the building is free for up to 2 hours, and the lot was spacious so parking was easy.

The restaurant wasn't huge, but it had around six tables, a mix of 2-seat and 4-seat tables, and it looked like a fine place to come eat solo too.

The 500-won receipt review event and what sushi comes in the set

The sushi lineup was really varied — special Ganghan sushi, omakase sushi, Ganghan sushi, raw salmon sushi, extra-large flounder sushi, tuna sushi, shrimp sushi, eel sushi, flame-seared egg sushi, flounder belly sushi, soy-marinated shrimp sushi, gamtae (seaweed) yukhoe sushi, abalone sushi, and more. With so many options, you could really eat whatever kind of sushi you wanted.

These days I tend to avoid restaurants with tight parking, but since this place is in Sinbuldang, the lot is spacious and they give you up to 2 hours free, which made it convenient to visit. You register your parking yourself on the tablet at the store entrance. If you park, make sure to register before you leave!

What's in the Ganghan Sushi 12P set for 14,000 won

I ordered the Ganghan Sushi 12P, and it came with 12 pieces of assorted sushi plus miso soup, salad and croquette, and even mini udon. Usually places just give you sushi and miso soup, so having croquette and mini udon on top of that was such a nice surprise!

Once everything arrived, the table was completely full. The sushi looked fresh and colorful and pretty too. Time to dig in!

The set included a good variety — flounder, tuna, salmon, squid, gamtae shrimp, soy-marinated shrimp, egg, and fried tofu sushi. You don't even need to agonize over what to order — the set menu already gives you such a great lineup, so I'd say just go with the set without a second thought!

The mini udon, croquette, and salad on the side

The aged kimchi that came alongside went really well with the sushi, and the mini udon had chewy noodles with plenty of fish cake — really tasty.

The croquette was thick and crispy on the outside, really delicious. It went great with the salad too.

How did the sushi taste?

The rice portion was just right and the fish was fresh, so the sushi tasted great. I've been disappointed at cheap sushi places before where the fish is thin and the rice is barely there, but that wasn't the case here — I was glad.

The squid sushi was chewy and delicious, and the gamtae shrimp sushi was nice and plump. None of the sushi came with wasabi already mixed in — they gave it on the side separately, which I actually liked since I'm not a big wasabi fan!

The soy-marinated shrimp sushi was seasoned just right, and the egg sushi was sweet and soft — and since there were two pieces, I got to enjoy it twice.

The fried tofu sushi was pleasantly salty and delicious, and the squid sushi topped with sauce was chewy and tasty too. It was great to get to try so many different kinds of sushi. The set was so generous and filling that I was completely stuffed by the end.
