Bluefin tuna and gamtae sushi in Cheonan Buldang-dong: Ganghan Sushi

It's been a while since I had sushi haha. Today I was craving sushi — Ganghan Sushi in Buldang-dong it is!!! Honestly, I'd eaten a pretty half-hearted first meal that day~

Let me introduce Ganghan Sushi Buldang Branch, a Buldang-dong sushi spot that's packed with customers every time I visit!!!

Where is Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch, and where do you park?

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is on a side street in Buldang-dong, in the commercial building in front of Buldang Jewell Prugio Complex 1, between Yonsei Namu Hospital and the IBK Industrial Bank building. It's also close to the main road. Hours are daily 11:00–22:00, last order at 21:30. This is my third visit already, so I'm basically a lucky girl who could find it with her eyes closed.

Parking is tough in Buldang-dong by nature, but this place is convenient since it's near the First Plaza underground parking lot. When you leave, you can self-register for free 3-hour parking, which was great for stopping by a coffee shop after the meal~~ Today it's Mammoth Coffee!! Random tmi, but the coffee is really good ☕️

The exterior is pretty compact~~ You check the menu on the standing sign outside before heading in~ They also have handmade pork cutlet and rice bowls!! Pick whichever you like more between raw salmon or freshwater eel~

Inside Ganghan Sushi: seating, atmosphere and how long the wait is

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch had a lot of solo women diners, female friend pairs, and couples on dates — already full of customers. Since it was full, I sat in the waiting area, added my name to the list, and waited a bit~

From the waiting seats you could see straight into the kitchen, and each staff member handled their own station smoothly~ The staff's kindness was a bonus!!!

What is on the Ganghan Sushi menu?

The best sellers at Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch seem to be the Ganghan Sushi 12-piece set and the Special Sushi, the top order by volume. Lucky girl here only orders these two too. The signature omakase sushi also seems to be a popular pick~

On top of that, you can also order à la carte, so it's a place where you can enjoy sushi lunch or dinner just the way you like it^^ There's also a Naver review event, so joining that might be worth it too~

As soon as we ordered, they brought out seafood croquette, mini udon, and jangguk^^ The mini udon was nice and chewy, the perfect little appetizer before the main dish^^

The seafood croquette was packed with seafood^^ Classic crispy-outside, tender-inside texture~~

Ta-da, here's the Buldang-dong sushi favorite, Ganghan Sushi and Special Sushi~~~ Already looks delicious just from the visuals!!!

How do the gamtae sushi and honmaguro bluefin tuna sushi taste?

The sushi wrapped in gamtae (dried laver) had moist, tender fish~ Even after eating it I didn't catch the exact name of the piece, oh well haha

The salmon was smooth, moist, and a little fatty — goes down so easily!!! Eating it with the washed aged kimchi makes the flavor even cleaner.

The hongmaguro tuna sushi is such a pretty red — and it tastes as good as it looks~ Dip it right in soy sauce and it's simply amazing. Each type of fish had a different flavor, so I was busy savoring each one~~

The rice portion was just right, and best of all the fish was fresh and delicious~^^ The portions were generous too, so I got nice and full^^ The egg sushi was sweet — reminds me of a friend who loves egg sushi.

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch has established itself as a Buldang-dong sushi favorite, with plenty of delivery orders and lots of solo diners too!!! I recognize it as a genuine sushi restaurant~ I'd recommend Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch to Buldang-dong office workers or anyone stopping by after a hospital visit in the area!!!!
