Hi everyone, it's Jina haha! Today I want to introduce a Korean restaurant in Ilsan that I visited with my husband last weekend, craving a neat and hearty Korean meal for a bit of a mood boost. It's 'Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch,' located in Anigol, Ilsan. I've always loved a well-arranged Korean table setting, and this place turned out to be even more charming than I expected, so I really wanted to share it with you all.

Parking at Haenon Miyeok in Anigol: a dedicated lot out front
Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch has a fairly spacious dedicated parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Parking is always one of the biggest worries when driving to a restaurant, so this made a great first impression! When I arrived, lunch service had just started so there weren't many cars, but by the time I left it was completely full haha. Worth keeping in mind if you're visiting during the weekend peak time!
Is Haenon Miyeok comfortable with parents and kids?
Walking into the Haenon Miyeok dining room, it was even more spacious and pleasant than I expected. The tables were spaced generously apart, so we could talk comfortably during our meal without worrying about other guests. On top of that, baby chairs were well stocked, showing thoughtful consideration for families dining with young children. I thought it would be a great spot to bring your parents or hold a family gathering!
Ordering beef and scallop seaweed soup, plus the free abalone for pregnant diners
Ordering is done via kiosk, so I ordered beef seaweed soup and my husband ordered scallop seaweed soup! And here's the one point that completely touched me: I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant, and thanks to the pregnancy benefit the restaurant was running, they told me they'd add a whole fresh abalone to my beef seaweed soup as a free service! That kind of small consideration and thoughtfulness just made me so happy and warmed my heart... Thank you so much!!!
What comes with the set: side dish spread and self-serve bar
After a short wait, the basic side dishes were finally set out... wow, as soon as the table was set, both my husband and I were stunned! Even before the seaweed soup in its earthenware pot arrived, the number and quality of the neatly arranged side dishes was surprisingly varied!!
Even better, if any side dish runs low, you can freely grab more from the self-serve bar. Besides the dishes that come with the basic spread, the self-serve bar also had warm and spicy braised tofu and savory garlic scapes! With so many delicious sides to choose from freely, I was ready to polish off a whole bowl of rice even before the seaweed soup arrived. Hahahaha.

My top pick from the Haenon Miyeok self-serve bar is definitely the eggplant fritters! They were so good — I refilled them twice hahaha.

After eating a bit of the varied side dishes, the seaweed soup arrived, piping hot and bubbling away. Doesn't it look delicious?!
The rice had hijiki seaweed mixed in, giving it a really distinctive and delicious flavor, and the seaweed soup — however much care went into it — had a rich broth that was genuinely delicious!
And I also got a small pancake (jeon) from a review event, plus shrimp fritters from a Naver reservation benefit!

You can see the abalone peeking out here!! I was so thankful for the pregnancy benefit — it really felt like I got to eat a healthier meal.
How big are the portions?
After eating all that rice... I was so full I couldn't finish everything, ugh. The portions really are huge — before I got pregnant I would have finished it all, but now my digestion isn't as good, sigh. Still, I tried to eat as much as I could, and once I got home I kept thinking about the seaweed soup I'd left behind!
Rich, deep broth, generous side dishes, and friendly service — Haenon Miyeok in Anigol didn't fall short anywhere. If you're looking for a neat Korean restaurant to bring your parents to, or craving a hearty, warm nourishing meal, I highly recommend giving it a visit! 💕
