I was hunting for a dinner spot near Seolleung and suddenly craved conveyor-belt sushi, so I headed to Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station :) Everything's ₩1,990 a plate, so it was easy on the wallet, and the variety was better than I expected — they even had dessert ready. Fun to just keep picking whatever caught my eye haha.

The menu and what we ordered at Sushi Ian N

With a single flat price of ₩1,990 per plate, there was basically no math to do while looking at the menu. That day we ended up eating a ton — taco wasabi gunkan, beef tartare tataki, egg shrimp sushi, and more lol.

We showed up hungry, so the plates just kept stacking up... add a bottle of sake to that and by the end we walked out completely full 🤍

1,990 won a plate: the fun of picking your own

A place where picking whatever sushi you're craving is half the fun!

Selected plates of conveyor-belt sushi

A lot of conveyor-belt sushi spots price plates by color, but Sushi Ian N keeps it simple at ₩1,990 flat, so there's less pressure on the wallet. Watching the belt go round and grabbing whatever looks good one by one somehow makes you eat even more lol.

Broth served upon being seated

Once we sat down, they brought out broth first! We also ordered a bottle of sake to go with everything, and the sushi-and-sake combo worked way better than I expected 🍶

Taco wasabi gunkan (octopus wasabi battleship roll)

Chewy octopus paired with sharp wasabi

My favorite — taco wasabi gunkan! The chewy texture of fresh octopus with that sharp wasabi kick made for a great bite. If you like taco wasabi, this is worth grabbing off the belt when you spot it :)

Beef tartare tataki

Heard it's Sushi Ian N's best sushi, so I tried it

Fresh beef tartare, lightly seared and topped with a special sauce. The savory flavor of the beef combined with the sauce for more umami than I expected. I love tartare or tataki-style sushi, so I really enjoyed this one haha.

Egg shrimp sushi

Soft egg topped with shrimp, lightly torched!

The egg shrimp was tasty too. Shrimp on top of soft egg, lightly torched, so the pillowy egg texture paired nicely with the bouncy shrimp. That hint of smoky char made it feel more special than a plain egg sushi :)

Pork belly bossam sushi

Torch-grilled pork belly in BBQ sauce + bossam kimchi combo

The name alone was intriguing so I picked one, and the combo worked way better than I expected lol. Pork belly brushed with BBQ sauce, lightly torched for a subtle smokiness, topped with bossam kimchi (seasoned kimchi wraps) — total Korean-style sushi vibe! The savory, salty pork with the spicy-tangy kimchi wasn't heavy at all. It's different from regular sushi, so if you're into fusion sushi, this one's worth trying :)

Spicy salmon steak with fire chicken sauce

Tender salmon with a spicy fire chicken sauce kick

I was curious about the salmon fire chicken steak, so I tried it! Tender salmon steak with spicy fire chicken sauce on top — the mild salmon flavor got a nice spicy punch. Salmon alone can feel a bit rich, but the spicy sauce kept me coming back for more lol. After plate after plate of straight-up sushi, having a menu like this to switch things up was fun 🤍

Not on the belt? Order it made to order

Anything not out on the rail, we just asked for and they made it fresh on the spot!

Fruit and dessert to finish

One thing I really liked — it's not just sushi and done. There was fruit and dessert available too! After all the sushi and a bottle of sake, finishing with dessert made the whole meal feel complete lol.

A filling dinner with a bottle of sake

A bottle of sake ordered alongside the sushi

I meant to keep it simple and just eat sushi, but I kept grabbing plate after plate and we ended up ordering a bottle of sake too. Pairing sushi with sips of sake made the vibe even better, and I left surprisingly full. Honestly, being able to pick whatever I wanted without worrying about the bill, thanks to the flat ₩1,990 per plate, was the best part for me.
