A choco pie gift set that's great to grab as a souvenir before boarding the train at Gwangju Songjeong Station! From the box down to the individual choco pie packaging, it's such a pretty set that it works both as a souvenir for yourself and as a gift for someone else. They sell scones and cookies alongside the choco pies too, so if you're wrapping up a Gwangju trip and need a gift before catching your train, I'd definitely pick this.
Where is Ssukseu Choco Pie? Just across from Gwangju Songjeong Station
Ssukseu Choco Pie is located inside 1913 Songjeong Station Market, and you can get there just by crossing the road from Gwangju Songjeong Station. It's the perfect distance for a quick stop before train time.
1913 Songjeong Station Market has all kinds of shops, and you just need to look for the storefront with the green signage.
There was no seating inside, but people kept coming and going nonstop — some grabbing a couple to taste, others like me buying gift sets.

Ssukseu Choco Pie's menu has 6 kinds of choco pie, 3 kinds of scones and cookies, plus milk tea and cheesecake. Check out the variety of choco pies, cookies, and scones in the showcase and order whichever ones you like.

Just keep in mind that cheesecake can't be gift-wrapped.

What's in the 24,800-won 6-piece choco pie gift set
With the cooler bag, they packed it sturdily with an ice pack like this. It keeps cool for up to 5 hours, so I could take the train a long way without worry :)
Unboxing it, the crisp, clean green box had 6 choco pies packed tightly in, sorted by flavor.
They said refrigerated storage lasts 8 days and frozen up to 30 days, so the shelf life feels pretty generous, and I bet they taste even better cold haha. If you want to keep them a while, definitely freeze them!
Why Korean wheat and no preservatives make Ssukseu Choco Pie easy to trust
Ssukseu Choco Pie, which I'd recommend as a Gwangju souvenir, doesn't use preservatives, artificial colors, or emulsifiers, and is made with healthy ingredients, which makes it feel even more trustworthy. The flour is uri-mil (domestic Korean wheat) too, so it really feels like a dessert made with health in mind.
Each choco pie comes individually boxed, which makes it feel even more thoughtfully made for gifting. I was curious about the Udo peanut one, so I opened it up, and it had so many peanuts packed in that it looked really delicious.
The choco pies are quite large too, with the cream filling packed generously in the center, so they're heavier than you'd expect. I bet you'd get full just from eating one!!
How the gift went over: a fail-safe Gwangju souvenir
Made with traditional Korean ingredients like strawberry, red bean, peanut, mugwort, and injeolmi (sweet rice cake), it's a dessert I'd genuinely recommend as a Gwangju travel souvenir. When I gave this as a gift, the recipient was so happy — it was a satisfying, can't-go-wrong Gwangju travel souvenir.
