Italian food is easy to find around here, so it feels familiar, but proper French food is surprisingly hard to track down. Then I heard Sejong had a place specializing in authentic French cuisine that's also healthy and stylish — Le Garden Bleu — so I went to check it out.

It sits right in front of the fountain at the central plaza on the 1st floor of the mall, so it's easy to find, and eating while looking out at the refreshing fountain view through the window made the atmosphere that much more special.

The dining hall at Le Garden Bleu is flooded with sunlight through the floor-to-ceiling windows! The wood tables give off a cozy, warm feeling. With tables ranging from 2-seaters to 4-seaters, it's fully set up for dates, gatherings, and family meals alike — all ok!

Baby chairs are available too, so dining with kids should be comfortable.

Zero food additives! Le Garden Bleu makes all its sauces from scratch for a healthy yet impressive range of French dishes! There are nutrient-packed sous-vide chicken and salmon steak 'garden' menus, appetizers like mushroom soup and Tongyeong stone octopus ceviche salad, plus flaky pastry-crust pizzas, skirt steak, and a full lineup of pastas and risottos.

They also have handmade ades, custom drinks, and a solid wine and liquor lineup that pair nicely with the food for a more atmospheric meal.

The mushroom soup is ₩5,500. Domestic button mushrooms, shiitake, and king oyster mushrooms are simmered slowly in butter, giving it a deep, rich mushroom aroma and flavor. It's generously packed with mushrooms, so you get that deep, savory taste from the very first spoonful.

Salmon steak garden, 18,500 won

The salmon steak garden is ₩18,500. The salmon steak is perfectly seared golden brown, with soft, moist flesh inside — the texture was really nice. With 16 hearty ingredients like hummus, hemp seeds, lentils, oats, beets, and avocado, it feels healthy, and the crisp apple and juicy nectarine add freshness so you never get tired of it.

Chinese-style seafood rigatoni, 19,000 won

The Chinese-style seafood rigatoni is ₩19,000. It's a rigatoni dish with various seafood stir-fried in chili oil until smoky and char-grilled, sitting in a shallow, rich broth. Clams, mussels, shrimp, blue crab, and fish fillet are all packed in, giving it deep umami, and the fresh green vegetable topping on top pairs well with the chewy rigatoni for a cleaner finish.
