In short

24-Hour Lala Dragon (라라드래곤반점) Ssangyong branch is a Chinese restaurant on the first floor of a building near E-Mart Cheonan in Ssangyong-dong, Cheonan. I'm Nayeon, and it's been just over a year since I started living in Korea, still pretty new to it all!

Lately I've really been craving jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), so I went looking for a good Chinese restaurant, and that's how I found this place.

It's Lala Dragon Ssangyong branch, a famous restaurant in Ssangyong-dong, Cheonan.

The jjajangmyeon here really let the savory flavor of the black bean paste shine, and the crab fried rice was good too, with a rich, nutty flavor 😊

And the mini pork tenderloin tangsuyuk was even better with the special sauce on the side — I came away from lunch completely full!

If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Ssangyong-dong, Cheonan, let me introduce Lala Dragon Ssangyong branch, which I've now become a regular at after just one visit!

What are the interior and seating like at Lala Dragon?

Usually Chinese restaurants have that distinctive greasy smell that makes them feel a bit stuffy, but Lala Dragon Ssangyong branch was clean and pleasant.

The tables were spaced widely apart, so you could eat comfortably.

Best of all, the air conditioning was blasting nice and cool, there were plenty of seats, and the relaxed atmosphere made it a really nice place to eat.

Side dishes and the self-bar with unlimited refills

The basic side dish was pickled radish. It was sliced thin, so it was easy to chew and eat!

If you needed more, you could grab it from the self-bar — not just pickled radish but kimchi, onion, and even rice were all unlimited refills!

What's on the menu at Lala Dragon?

The menu has a wide range, from jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) to jjajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, fried rice, japchae rice, sundubu rice, half-and-half combos, medium shrimp, yurinngi (crispy chicken), and kkanpunggi (spicy chicken).

There were also dishes like gochu japchae with flower buns, yangjangpi, and palbochae, plus a summer special cold seafood jjamppong — plenty to choose from depending on your taste!

My husband ordered crab fried rice, I ordered jjajangmyeon, and we also got the mini pork tenderloin tangsuyuk to share.

Old-style jjajang: noodles and how much sauce you get

This is the old-style jjajangmyeon I ordered. Whenever I go to a Chinese restaurant, I always order jjajangmyeon, and Lala Dragon passes with flying colors because of how generous the sauce is.

My favorite jjajangmyeon style is chewy noodles loaded with plenty of black bean sauce, and the noodles here were nice and chewy!

I usually think jjajangmyeon tastes about the same wherever you go in Korea, so I didn't expect much, but it was better than I imagined — a nice surprise.

You could really taste the distinctive savory flavor of the black bean paste, and personally I loved how generous the sauce was.

If you're looking for a great jjajangmyeon spot in Ssangyong-dong, Cheonan, I'd recommend this one!

How big is the crab fried rice portion?

My husband had the crab fried rice. The portion was so big it looked filling just looking at it.

A generous plate of crab fried rice

The rice grains were fried light and fluffy, so it had a nice bite, and with plenty of crab, egg, and vegetables, he said it was really delicious.

Since it's crab fried rice, you could really taste the crab even on its own — savory and light,

but he said it was even better paired with the jjajang sauce that came with it, since the salty sauce really complements the rich, oily fried rice!

Mini pork tenderloin tangsuyuk and how to eat it with the special sauces

We also had the mini pork tenderloin tangsuyuk. Even though it's called "mini," the portion was really generous — my husband said it was quite the deal for the price.

The owner actually told us the best way to enjoy the tangsuyuk: dip it in the special oil sauce and spicy sauce first, then follow it with the tangsuyuk sauce for an even better bite.

So I tried dipping it in the special spicy sauce 😊 It looked spicy just from the color, but it wasn't as hot as I expected!

Personally, the spicy sauce was my favorite of the special sauces. The tangsuyuk was crispy with a nice bite of meat, and the spiciness cut through the richness really well — it was so good!

Lala Dragon's time discount event: lunch and dinner savings

They run a time discount event — 10% off weekday lunch and 5% off weekend dinner — so keep that in mind!

What I loved was that everything, from the jjajangmyeon to the crab fried rice to the tangsuyuk, was genuinely delicious!

Lala Dragon, a favorite spot in Ssangyong-dong, Cheonan, satisfied both in taste and portion size — a Chinese restaurant I'd love to revisit next time!
