Cham Dwaejitgan has 60 seats, table-side ordering and a self-bar where you can refill vegetables, so on the last evening of a trip the writer ordered extra pork belly and finished with fried rice. I heard there was a pork belly place where the staff grill the meat for you, so for the last meal of my trip I stopped by Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch (참돼짓간 천안두정점) in Dujeong-dong for a delicious dinner. Here's my review!

Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch hours and parking
Let's enjoy meat and drinks comfortably until dawn

Cham Dwaejitgan, a pork belly spot in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan, stays open until 4am the next day, so keep that in mind if you want to enjoy a long, delicious night. There's no dedicated parking lot, but you can park in front of the shop or use the nearby alleys or public parking lots. On the day I visited, the spot in front of the shop was already taken, so I parked in a nearby alley.

60 seats: room for group dinners and family gatherings
Cham Dwaejitgan has a full 60 seats, so it's a great place to come with various gatherings, group dinners, and family meals to enjoy delicious meat. You order easily through the table-order system and pay when you leave.
The Cham Dwaejitgan grill that drains the fat downward
Sizzle away and fall for the charm of the grill plate!

Once you visit you'll meet this grill plate — the staff explained something about rice husks at the end, but I forgot, oops haha. Anyway, when you grill meat on this plate, the oil naturally drips down and the vegetables and kimchi underneath get deliciously grilled too. I'd never seen a grill plate like this at a Korean BBQ place before, so it was really interesting.

Once you sit down, various vegetables are set out, and you can grab spoons and chopsticks from the drawer next to the table.

Refilling vegetables at the self-bar
The self-bar at Cham Dwaejitgan is packed full, which really shows the owner's generosity, and it's kept clean, so it was easy to refill on whatever vegetables I needed.
Hearing the meat sizzle on the grill made me even hungrier, and having the staff grill it for me directly made for a really comfortable way to end the trip.
Samgyeopsal grilled for you by the staff
Let's have a meal with meat that's comfortably grilled for us

Having the staff grill the meat on the plate was definitely convenient. I nibbled on various things to curb my hunger while waiting, and then all I had to do was enjoy the perfectly grilled pork belly.

The vegetables and kimchi grilled nicely with the oil dripping down from the plate, and the pork belly was brought down too — now it was time to wrap it up however I liked.

I love perilla leaves, so I started wrapping with those first, and as expected, it was amazing. Nutty and crisp on the outside, perfectly grilled — it went so well wrapped with the various vegetables that we ended up ordering extra pork belly, and that's no secret.
How do the potato slice wraps taste?
Don't miss out on the potato slices either

The owner recommended pairing potato slices with garlic scapes and mushroom wasabi in a wrap, so I tried it.

I rolled it up in the potato slice as recommended and took a bite — it was great. It was my first time wrapping pork belly with potato slices, and I'd never eaten this combination at any other Korean BBQ place before; it ended up tasting like a signature dish.
Fried rice to finish and the mood inside Cham Dwaejitgan
You can't beat fried rice to finish

Fried rice is the unwritten rule for finishing off pork belly, right? After demolishing the pork belly, I ordered fried rice to finish, and the staff fried it up deliciously as always.

With the staff comfortably grilling the meat amid the weariness of travel and finishing with delicious fried rice, it was a satisfying meal at this pork belly restaurant in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan.

There were so many other customers when I visited that I could only snap a few photos of part of the restaurant on my way out, so I'm a bit sorry I couldn't capture the whole place. It's a newly opened spot, so everything felt clean and pleasant to eat in, and after the meal they finished us off with a yogurt drink and candy as a service — a delicious day all around 😊
- The meat is fresh and delicious
- The staff are kind
- The restaurant is clean
- I'd like to visit again
