Italian dining in Busanjin, Busan: creamy pasta at Brassway
In short
Brassway is a small Italian home-style dining restaurant in Jeonpo-dong, Busanjin, Busan. I visited for a friend’s birthday and had bacon mushroom cream pasta and baby potato fries, where the thick pasta paired beautifully with spicy gochujang ranch sauce. Verdict: add the potato fries if you love potatoes.

I visited Brassway, a great pasta spot tucked between the Jeonpo-dong alleys near Wonjo Aein! It is a small Italian home-style dining spot, so it is lovely for a friend’s birthday like mine or a date with your partner. Jeonpo is usually full of great alleyway restaurants, which can make parking difficult, but they offer ₩1,000 support if you use a nearby public parking lot, so keep that in mind :)

A small Italian home-style dining spot in the Jeonpo-dong alleys
They say each plate is shaped by experience gained after completing a course at Le Cordon Bleu, then working at overseas bistros and well-known Korean hotels. The exterior had such an exotic feel too. I thought the little wood-toned tables were a waiting area, but you can dine there as well—wouldn’t they be perfect in this weather?

There are so many pretty cafés and restaurants in Jeonpo-dong these days, right? I feel like there are fewer places than you would expect where you get both a nice atmosphere and a proper meal, so I was looking forward to this one. It does not feel like a formally stuffy restaurant, so as I said above, it is a good choice for a birthday or anniversary. They also have high chairs, which is just perfect :)

What are the seating and atmosphere like?
The interior was not especially spacious, fitting its home-like feel, but it was full of warmth and a calm atmosphere. It was set up mainly with tables for four and two, and there were window seats too.

We ordered cream pasta and baby potato fries
We ordered the bacon mushroom cream pasta and baby potato fries. I had considered trying Brassway’s signature, popular galbi pasta, but went with the cream pasta because that is more our style! Ordering is easy through the table QR code.

Only a small amount of radish pickles comes with the meal, so use the self-service bar in front of the kitchen if you need more :)

Baby potato fries with gochujang ranch sauce
The baby potato fries arrived a little before the pasta. My friend strongly recommended them, and they were seriously so good. The gochujang (Korean red chili paste) ranch sauce underneath went so well with the fluffy cooked potatoes that I ended up scraping up every last bit of sauce. If you love potatoes in general, I absolutely recommend this menu item.

Thick bacon mushroom cream pasta
The richly flavored cream pasta was packed with mushrooms and bacon, and it leaned more toward a thick, clingy style than a light, saucy one.

The gochujang ranch sauce beneath the baby potato fries was a little spicy, so it paired nicely with the bacon mushroom cream pasta, and every bite was full of flavor.

Orange vanilla ice cream after the meal
We never miss a review event ∗̥✩⁺˚♡ The orange vanilla ice cream was great to finish the meal with—sweet yet refreshing, truly a can’t-go-wrong combination. They even added crunchy bits with a lightly nutty chew. Even the little heart spoon was totally our style; dinner done properly.. 🤍
