Yongin lamb barbecue with staff grilling: Hwaro Yangmi

Lamb and lamb skewers... I ate them SO often when I lived in China, and sometimes I really crave that taste haha. So off we go for lamb for the first time in ages~~

Near Sanghyeon Station, easy on foot or by car

It is near Sanghyeon Station, so it is fine to visit on foot, and there is parking in the building if you bring a car! It seemed convenient for meeting up around Sanghyeon Station or coming for a post-work company dinner too.

Let’s head inside~~ It was more spacious than I expected, and the partitions at every table made it nice to eat without worrying about the tables beside us. I can see why people looking for a good Sanghyeon Station spot for company dinners would come here.

An outdoor terrace zone that needs a reservation

And the part I especially loved!! The outdoor terrace zone~~ Doesn’t it look so nice haha? Grilling lamb outdoors would really make it feel like a camping trip. On a nice-weather day, sitting here would give you the full atmosphere too! The outdoor terrace does require a reservation, though, so don’t forget to book if you want to eat outside~~

An assorted set from shoulder rack to marinated mini ribs

We ordered the Special Assorted Set that day! It came with shoulder rack, lamb sirloin, and marinated mini ribs. Being able to try several cuts at once makes this kind of assorted set perfect when you cannot decide what to get.

A few basic side dishes that go well with lamb came out too. It is fun to nibble on these while waiting for the meat haha. Especially these peanuts... they were sweet, and I just kept reaching for them haha. I grabbed one before the meat arrived, then another, and before I knew it I was still eating them.

Staff-grilled lamb that kept the conversation going

And here is another good thing! We did not grill the meat ourselves; the staff grilled it for us. So convenient hahaha. If I grill lamb, I start wondering when to flip it and how long to cook it, but the staff cooked it deliciously, so we could just sit and eat. Totally relaxing~~

They transferred the perfectly cooked meat onto our plates. With that taken care of, there was no need for conversation to stop because of grilling, so it would be great for a company dinner or gathering too.

One vote for lamb sirloin, one for shoulder rack from my husband

Now, let’s eat!! They say the lamb is chilled-aged rather than frozen, and maybe that is why the meat was quite tasty. The distinctive lamb smell was not too bothersome, and it was tender and easy to eat. It tasted even better because it had been so long haha.

First, the lamb sirloin! I really loved this one. It was tender, with a savory flavor that came through the more I chewed, so my personal vote goes to the sirloin!

My husband said the shoulder rack was better. I picked the sirloin, and he picked the shoulder rack. Meat really comes down to personal taste haha. Both were tasty, so I think each person can choose a favorite cut.

And then the marinated mini ribs. These were a little spicy from the marinade. Since we ate them after finishing the other meat, that slight spiciness made my mouth feel refreshed? After the richer meat earlier, having one of these made everything feel cleansed, which I liked. I personally recommend this order haha: meat → mini ribs. That would be just right.

Spicy beef warm noodles that keep you coming back

Our little one ate lamb better than expected too, so with the three of us eating, the meat felt a tiny bit insufficient. So we ordered the beef warm noodles as an extra!

My first words were: spicy, spicy, spicy hahaha. Seriously spicy. But it was strangely addictive, so I kept eating it. It is spicy, but you keep reaching for it with your chopsticks haha. It has corn noodles in it, and the noodles went really well with the broth. Because the broth itself is spicy, having it after the meat seemed to cut through the richness too. Lamb followed by warm noodles left us very full.

And at the end, you can even have ice cream!! I mean, ice cream after meat—how great is that~~ After the spicy warm noodles, finishing with ice cream made everything end on such a clean note haha.

Hwaro Yangmi was comfortable for family meals and company dinners

Overall, Hwaro Yangmi was a place where we enjoyed lamb extra deliciously, perhaps because it had been so long! In particular, the lamb was chilled-aged rather than frozen, so the meat itself was tasty, and having the staff grill it directly was so convenient. You do not have to be busy grilling and can just sit comfortably and eat, so it seems good for company dinners or family meals too. There are partitions inside as well, making it a good option for people looking for a Sanghyeon Station company-dinner restaurant, and one I could recommend to people looking for a Gwanggyo company-dinner spot too.

Most of all, I really loved the outdoor terrace, so I want to reserve it and eat there on a nice-weather day haha. Eating lamb with that camping feeling would be different and delicious, right~~ It is in a good location when you want lamb skewers or lamb ribs near Sanghyeon Station, so this may be helpful for anyone looking for good food in Sanghyeon-dong too! I thought the lamb sirloin was best, while my husband thought the shoulder rack was best, so I recommend ordering both and comparing them haha. If you love lamb and want a proper meal for the first time in a while, it seems worth visiting :) Especially if you are looking for good lamb ribs or lamb skewers in Gwanggyo, the staff handle the grilling, so it is an easy place to enjoy delicious lamb!
