Sejong pig trotter takeout with fruit buckwheat noodles: Cheongmigwan
In short
Cheongmigwan Sejong Naseong Main Branch is a jokbal (braised pig trotter) restaurant in Naseong-dong, Sejong that uses domestic front-leg pork. Ordering right at opening, Cheongmi front-leg jokbal and a side of homemade fruit mak-guksu (buckwheat noodles) came packed in a paper bag, with skin boiled in Solomon's seal salt staying chewy and the meat turning tender from low-temperature cooking. With the side added, the portion filled 3 to 4 people, so Cheongmigwan works well for housewarmings or taking food to your parents' place.

To try the jokbal at Cheongmigwan Sejong Naseong Main Branch — a well-known spot in Sejong Naseong-dong that often has a wait — I placed a takeout order timed right at opening.

Inside Cheongmigwan: atmosphere and how long you wait
Inside, Cheongmigwan Sejong Naseong Main Branch has a wood-toned interior, with everything from window-side seats to hall tables looking great for groups, gatherings, or family meals. It's apparently well-known enough as a jokbal spot in Sejong Naseong-dong that you need to wait during weekday dinner peak hours and weekends. Next time I really need to try the jokbo set in-store haha 😁

What's on the Cheongmigwan jokbal menu?
The menu includes front-leg jokbal, spicy chive jokbal, tofu-kimchi bossam, half-and-half jokbal, jokbo, and special. Side dishes include chive pancake, mak-guksu, flying fish roe rice ball, steamed egg, and Tongyeong raw oysters (seasonal), plus alcohol and drinks.

How Cheongmigwan packs takeout in a paper bag
Eating in the restaurant is great too, but today, after work, I wanted to enjoy jokbal comfortably in front of the TV, so I ordered takeout for pickup. The packaging wasn't plastic — it was a paper bag! Felt really upscale 😃 I think Cheongmigwan's jokbal packaging would be perfect for bringing to a housewarming or taking to your parents' place!! 👏👏

Today I ordered the Cheongmi front-leg jokbal with a side of homemade fruit mak-guksu.

I unboxed everything one by one like opening a gift box. Meat-packed front-leg jokbal, a generous amount of mak-guksu, plus chives, pickled radish, chili shredded radish, shredded radish, salted shrimp, radish wrap, ssamjang (dipping sauce), garlic, chili, and wrapping greens — so generous 👏👏👏

I plated the jokbal and mak-guksu nicely to complete today's Cheongmigwan front-leg jokbal spread 😍

How does the Cheongmi front-leg jokbal taste?
At Cheongmigwan, a well-known spot in Sejong Naseong-dong, they say the domestic front-leg pork is boiled in Solomon's seal salt roasted in-house, giving this hot jokbal its savory flavor 👍

The jokbal was glossy and shiny 🤗 — even just looking at it, you could tell the skin was plump and chewy from the outside in. Before the warmth from the takeout faded, I quickly took a bite. Boiled in Solomon's seal salt, it had a solid base seasoning, and the first texture from the skin was chewy! The meat itself was moist too! Slow-cooked at low temperature for a long time, it had an incredibly tender texture. No gamey smell at all — the kind of taste that makes you go 'mmm, delicious!' without even trying.

Delicious jokbal from Cheongmigwan just isn't complete without a drink, so I clinked glasses with mushroom liquor ~ good food, good drink!

I wrapped up a nice bite in a lettuce wrap and also picked off some meat straight from the bone 😁 It really melts in your mouth — with the base seasoning already there, it's delicious even eaten plain 👍
I also enjoyed the jokbal with the side dishes — this shredded radish is really tasty 🤗 I bet the bossam and bossam kimchi would taste great too ☺️

Is the homemade fruit mak-guksu side worth adding?
This side of homemade fruit mak-guksu I added — definitely add this one if you order!! The fruit-based sauce soaked well into the noodles, giving them a sweet, savory depth. One bite on its own, one bite with jokbal, then back to the mak-guksu again — I kept picking up my chopsticks in an endless loop 😋 The portion was really generous too, so I had a bit left over. With the side added, I think 3-4 people could enjoy this fully and end up satisfied. Highly recommending Cheongmigwan, a jokbal restaurant in Sejong Naseong-dong 😍👍
